Just got in a nice swim this morning and I've got a tempo run scheduled for tonight.  It supposed to be nice all week so hopefully I can pick away at my challenge goals.

Spreadsheet updated. Organizer had added a new column or two. I've added hyperlinks to members logs so click on a teammates name to see their log. Quick access for sending them some inspiration!

I've added 40 km of biking to my training goal. I haven't done any biking all winter and still do not have a road bike but I hope to buy one this month. If I do not then I will get 40 km on my mountain bike. (keeping fingers crossed that winter is over!)

Get training folks!

Steve

I got my bike ride in last night.
0 degrees and snow in the air, not to mention very windy from the NW.

Managed to get 2hrs in, and get back just as it really started to snow.
Woke up this morning to 2 inches on the ground.

Maybe it will be gone for Friday's ride. I hope so.

Hope everyone has gotten off to a good start to the month.

I had a 6 km run planned for lunch time yesterday but things got too busy at work so I couldn't take the time off. I made up for it this at 5:30 this morning (ran 6 km in fog and a light drizzle). Love these challenges to push me out the door when otherwise I probably would have just rolled over in bed....

Forecast looks good for this weekend so I should be able to get a ride in on my new bike.

Please review the spreadsheet and let me know if any corrections to your goals are required.
I've updated it looking at peoples April 1st and 2nd logs only.

Looking at the spreadsheet it looks like we are doing good so far this month.  Lets keep up the good work.  I got in an hour ride on the trainer yesterday and I'm got a 45 min run scheduled today after work.  Hopefully the weather holds out.

Cheers

James

Question: I've noticed that on some teams, members post their weekly totals here in the thread, while on others, the team captain pulls data from the logs.  Which way would you prefer we operate?

I'm pulling it off your logs....(doing so at this moment). I will try to update the spreadsheets each Sunday evening recognizing that some people may not log their weekend training until the Monday. If I should be missing some of your time/distance or if you feel a correction is needed then PM me and I will update the spreadsheet.

Well this was a fun filled weekend.  I got in a 2 hour bike on sat and an hour swim and 1 hour and 20 run on sunday.  My quads are burning though so off to the tub for a good soak ... I hope everyone else had plentiful training weekends.

April 9th update of Spreadsheet (See attached).

Overall we are at 31.02% (the goal for this week was to be at 30%). However while this is a multi sport challenge - each sport counts! So check the spreadsheet and make adjustments to your training schedule as you see fit.

I color code your totals. If your total is green (you are on pace or ahead of pace). If your total is yellow (you are behind pace but not 50% behind). If your total is red then you are more than 50% behind pace. In some cases their are valid explanations (i.e. it's not recommended to swim with a cast on... ) - but in some cases individuals may need some extra inspiration to get out there early in the month. So watch for the yellow and red entries and post some inspirational messages to your teammates.

PM me if you see any errors or want changes to your totals (i.e. if you log an entry for this past week after this post).

Wish you all a great week of training!

Steve

Hey Folks,

How is everyone doing??? I have checked the spreadsheet and only saw a few reds (yeah I know, I have all three sports in the red) but the way i have set up my times for this month is as follows, the first 2 weeks are at 2x bike, swim and run while my last 2 weeks are 3x for each, hence on average I will be short for my times, however, I have missed a couple days, but they will be made up slowly, I have already made up 14 min out of 32 on the run portion so i am only short 18 min for the run, but still short about 42 min on the bike and 21 min swim.

However, I will get'er done, dont worry team!!! I have finished both of my challenges and will persever again this month, got my first ever tri coming up in May.

It is 500 m swim, 10 k bike and 4 k run. Should be a good one.

nice, thanks.  But as of 20 mins ago I am cast free!  Have to go to physio for some minor stiffness and range of motion issues, but I really excited to be "healed"

My shoulders were sore this morning during my swim and I couldn't figure out why as I haven't swam since last Friday. Running and biking shouldn't be tiring out my shoulders. Then I realized - I was raking our lawn this past weekend...

Anyone know a good website for swimming technique....
