Thanks for the expaination...it's still ridiculous. Even if is crime is causing fear in someone else... well heck, how far are we going to go on that? He was having a (public) conversation, and they were joking... and somone got "concerned"... you might be in trouble in the workplace when you are on the company dime... but just some comment in public on social media... uhhhh, no.

Kids say stupid stuff... and then we grow up, and learn saying stupid stuff is not always funny. Drop the charges, let him go. My guess is he will never say stupid stuff like this again.

If this happened to me I probably need to be on suicide watch too. This from his father spoken to NPR

" This is his first incarceration, his first charge. And I mean, without getting into the really nasty details, he's had concussions, he's had black eyes. He's been moved at four times from base for his own protection. He's been put in solitary confinement, nude, for days on end because he's depressed. All of this is extremely traumatic to this kid. This is a horrible experience."

A friend of mine was behind bars for 9 months attempted murder of his estranged wife and did not see half of what this kid been through.

"Fandom" in triathlon compared to other sports. If you're a sports fan and simply love to follow sport, why pick a sport that may offer a view of the start, the finish and a few moments in between?

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with two lumbar herniated discs (L1-L2). I have started a very slow build towards my first tri. Are there any recommendations or warnings I should heed?
