You know, Tony has a damn good point there.  How come I always have to hear about "climate change" when it's hot, or we have an extra hurricane one year, or a rash of tornadoes in the Midwest.......how come THAT weather is always because of climate change?  I still don't care.....but that's a curious thing about the whole debate, huh?

BTW - here's pic of a Thresher shark that washed up on Cape Cod bay......one of two.  They apparently died from "cold shock".  I guess we can add it to the pictures of polar bears dying because of melting ice from the heat.

Now I just need someone to tell me that this is all unprecedented and has never happened in the history of the Planet and my day will be complete......because I try not to let a day go by without laughing so hard that I almost fall out of my chair.

You guys left out my favorite, global climate disruption. One of obama's faves used to describe a weather event that doesn't fit the warming or change narrative. Hey did y'all know they call us flat earthers because we choose to ignore the obvious 'proven' global warming science?

Come on dude. Of course it isn't flat. It's more of a convex shaped object. I still haven't figured out how the water stays in place, but if we could get scientists to quit dic*ing around with global warming studies, they could figure it out for me.

Dont y'all know that the world is flat and surrounded by a giant Ice Wall that keeps the water in? i actually read this on another board. I imagine its like the movie "The Truman Show" ending, where Jim Carrey bumps into the "end" of his world.

So because of Global Warming....er....Climate Change.....I mean disruption, the giant ice wall will melt and all the water will drain out?  Is there any way for the government to keep this from happening?

Off topic but the shark inspired me. My son and I caught a couple of barracudas in Cozumel a few days ago.

That's fun stuff.  Good thing you got to go before the giant ice wall melts and drains the oceans.

Having to haul hot water out to the horses this AM because global warming has frozen their water trough solid. No wait, that's climate change, uhh err, disruption... it's effking cold in south Texas today.

Love Cozumel. Where did you stay and did you do any diving?

Last time we were down there I had one shadowing me while I was snorkeling the coastline. I swam, he swam, I stopped, he stopped. Pretty big one too, or at least the biggest one I ever saw underwater. I know he meant me no harm, but I'm in his house and looking at those teeth... sheesh!

My wife did the same thing yesterday here in Alabama. She has a stock tank heater but could not fill the tank as the water hose is frozen solid. She said she is giving the horses salt so they will drink more. Evidently the horses don't drink enough when it is only 6 degrees? IDK, I didn't ask. The horses are her. My horses are my boat, my Vette and used to be my Felt B12 and my HD till I sold them.

We were on a cruise ship so only there for one day. We've been there several times and usually ride 4 wheelers in the jungle or visit the Mayan ruins but this time we decided to do deep sea fishing.

Didn't do any diving in Cozumel but I saw a huge barracuda diving off West Palm beach many years ago. Scary looking fish when you see it face to face under water! I did a lot of diving in Kwajalein, RMI and it kind of spoiled me for diving. There is very little 'traffic' (tourists) out there so the coral gorgeous.....also got to dive on the Prinz Eugen (German heavy destroyer) as well as several other ships and WWII planes. Hmmm, now that I think on it, it's been nearly 10 years since I've been diving.

Think it's been 20 years since I donned a scuba tank. Sounds like you've done some impressive dives.

What ship were you guys on? We did a 3 night HAL to the Bahamas before Christmas. Thought it would be too short, but it turned out to be a nice getaway. Always got a kick out of seeing how drunk people got on a cruise stop in Cozumel. They're usually hooting and hollering at the bar by the ship and never get out to see the island. We had a guy sitting behind us fall out of his chair in the dining room after the Cozumel stop a few years back!

We were on the Carnival Fantasy out of Mobile. Cruising is one of our favorite vacations.....we've been on about 20 cruises over the years....mostly Disney Cruise Line when the kids were growing up. We've sailed on DCL, RCCL, HAL, NCL and CCL. Disney and Royal Caribbean are by far the best cruise lines (out of the cruise lines we've sailed with).

We've done a crapton as well . Our girls loved cruises when they were growing up. It's hard to find a simpler vacation option with kids IMO. We never tried Disney, but I agree, RCCL never let us down. Recent favorite is Celebrity. HAL has slipped down our list in recent years and most likely won't sail them again unless we find a great interline deal. We paid 150 pp for the three day Bahamas trip we just did, two balcony cabins right off the back of the ship. It's hard to pass up a deal like that!

I went through a scuba class and got certified when I was 15 or 16, but never went after.  I did do some snorkeling in a few exotic places, but that was about it.

Since we bought the quarry lake this year my wife and I found a local club that's willing to teach us and certify us this next year for free because we'll let them use our lake for classes for the summer.  It's very clear and about 50' deep so we're really excited to see what's down there.
I'm already shopping around for some interesting things to dump in the lake for habitat and scuba fun.  I figure a handful of old planes and maybe some cars and such will be fun for scuba and great for the fish.

This sounds awesome! Just make sure you pull the engine and radiators and drain all fluids before you dump the vehicles. Old boats would be cool. You can find old/abandoned boat everywhere. Also, collect Christmas trees and send them (have to weight them down or tie them to something on the bottom). They make great habitats for fish.

I am very jealous! I would love to own a lake!

Yep, for sure on cleaning anything up.  One cool thing is I don't have to spend a bunch of money getting them in there. I can just drag whatever out on the ice in the winter and let it sink in the spring.  hah
We have a lot of trees, so I was planning on bundling some up and sinking them with blocks.  I haven't quite figured out my habitat strategy though so I figure I'll do the building next winter.

My wife and I still have to pinch ourselves on our find.  It hasn't quite sunk in yet that we have our own lake.  hah

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.  We've been finding old car doors and various parts laying around the land as we continue to explore.
