lmao.  methods aren't used in the real world.....  makes you wonder what world he's in

I don't envision sticking aorund forever.  Once I graduate in june, dealing with the code will be someone else's baby.  Probably the worst thing about it is they built it for some old SGI machines with very limited memory and instead of using elegance to solve the problem, they just wrote EVERYTHING into temp files.  Stupid stuff too.  There are one line temp files that contain a single string declairing a path to the data folder.

Eventually they want the whole package optimized for distribution.  As it stands, each instalation is ad hoc.  All I was doing is stripping out routines for my own code.  I'm very happy I'm not going to be part of that nightmare.
