I was actually talking about a half marathon at Disney next Jan (They also have a full marathon). There is a half Ironman at Disney in May (I am shooting for 2005). Clermont has a lot of sprint tris (USAT HQ) and is very close to Disney. HEre are some links.

Yes, they are public. They are run by the local tri club. They aren't big Disney or Clermont events, but we are only an hour from Disney is why I mentioned them.

My first triathlon of the year will be May 22 in Galena IL, it is not really a sprint distance because there are hills in so they have shortened the distance to accomodate for that. I'm picking up my bike tomorrow so I can start riding on the more balmy days of winter here in Northern Illinois.

That's great - I will send a private message - but I'm thinking of the Galena tri too. There's a bike warm up in Elizabeth, IL, I might do that. I think I will look at tge central FL events too - my wife and daughter would love that.
