Hi Team - there has been a query with regard to cycle commutes, should they be counted as one stage or two?

Ive already stated that two a day workouts are fine i.e a spin class in the morning and a road ride at night would be two stages BUT a commute could be argued to be different as technically you HAVE to ride both ways...

Personally I think it comes down to how you counted it when you committed your stages... as long as you state how you are counting your commute in the beginning and stick to it I have no major objections but if anyone has a strong opinion regarding this please let me know.

Thanks

Cat

PS: HUGE congratulations to everyone who has already got a ride in for the challenge

TT ride around my Cheney loop.

Happy Monday Gang! Got my 1st of 10 scheduled rides in yesterday. I'll be logging my commute to/from work through Thursday this week. Then it's off to Seattle for the monster ride on Saturday.

Yay ... am in SD ! Kinda idolized Iban Mayo in 2004 !
Pl. count me in for 10 rides. I'd like to sign up for more but not too sure about freeing up time for a bike ride

I've got a TREK 1500 and have been riding since last June or so . Not tons of riding like some of the other folks here , but am quite happy with my mileage this year. Guess training and completing a VERY challenging HIM (Wildflower) helped some

Married & have a kid (18m) ... have realized over the last year the challenge of freeing up family time to train. Not an exceedingly fast biker or very good climber but am more in this crazy thing called triathlons for the gadgets endurance !

This was a freakin' RECORD on this route. And yeah, there was a tailwind, but still!! I got to 30mph after holding 25 for 5 miles.   I'm STILL smiling.

Heh heh - You sure can!!     I'm STILL all fired up - I gotta get out there again, but my next scheduled ride isn't until the Thursday night Wheelmen hammerfest - and Thursday's high is supposed to be 90 degrees. Yuck! I'm hoping it won't be quite as fast as usual. I'm toast in the heat.

I'll be in Portland on Saturday evening sometime, depending on what speed I can maintain for 200+ miles. I think the STP finish line is in Holland Park in SE Portland area. Luckily, it looks like the weather is supposed to cool off for Saturday. We're supposed to have a high of 105 on Friday here in Spokane. Ouch!
