Subject: RE: Newbies in Central Ohio for those looking to do miami, it is an AWESOME race.
I did it as my first triathlon ever three years ago (in its first year as a race ), and had a blast. came back this year and placed 2nd overall (far cry from that first day struggling to finish the swim and walking part of the run ).
The pool is indeed heated, and is fairly warm for a pool used for racing. for the tri this year it was 77 or 8 if i remember correctly. it can be a shock running outside from the warm inside, first time around was bad, this year was not too cold, maybe 55 outside so no need to put clothes on after the swim.
bike is a rolling loop now, with the first mile or two, and the last mile sharing the same section. the run is DEAD flat, through campus and is an hour and back (but you can see most of the course the whole time and its easy to know where you are. water stop right around mile 1.
fantastically run race and its growing every year (first year was like 260 registered, this year over 600 ).
if you want an early season race, look to this one, you wont be disapointed. |
