First, welcome to the site!

Second ... find yourself a good few hours and immerse yourself in this thread;

The easy answer as to lowering your running heart rate is to run slower. The hard answer is that your heart rate in relation to your pace is what you should be paying attention too, not what percentage of max heart rate for a 30 yr. old female.

The most important thing to remember about HR training, IMHO, is that its very individual. Your lactate threshold isn't necessarily an indicator of fitness but an indicator as to how YOUR system works. For instance, my run LT is 192 and the top of my Zone 2 is 176. For some, 176 would make them explode while for me its just starting to feel like work. So, before you go drawing any conclusions about your running, read up on HR training and do your field test. You'll have so much more information about how to train! Then, ditch the HRM and run by feel. Laughing
