But, being me (Mr. retentive), a dolphin is a mammal, so that would make us the Flying Mammals. I completely understand. I had a problem with that same thing. It was driving me batty the entire time I was writing the HTML code last night. LOL I thought about requesting a name change to exactly what you suggested - "The Flying Mammals." (GMTA) But, yeah. That just doesn't sound right. The "Flying Dolphins" didn't do it for me, either..... Edited by D001 2008-01-01 9:52 AM |

Master 1292 Houston | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Swim Team B Looks like swimming will commence for me tomorrow, the Y is closed today. I have printed out the schedules for lap swimming, spinning classes and other fun things to do at the local Y. I guess I will get my swim bag together today and maybe go pick up a few pool toys at Academy. I am ready to get going and looking forward to the challenge. Today will be a strength/core workout using my exercise ball and new resistance set up. How about everyone else? Were you/are you going to swim today? |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Swim Team B Okay, everyone needs to give a little bio about themselves to the rest of the team. I'm Kendra, aka kns57 A grandmother of three, mother of two, two cats, one hubby. Started Tri's last year. Did three sprints. Want to do an oly this year, along with several more sprints. Walk 1/2 mary's with friends once or twice a year. To support my Tri habit, I'm a librarian. I'm a walker who is trying to learn to run, but PF has gotten in the way so running is on hold at the moment. I've set myself a goal to swim 100K this year and who knows, maybe I'll have to up the goal. Edited by kns57 2008-01-01 5:44 PM |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Swim Team B Hello, Flying Fishies!! I'm Phil (1stTimeTri), and this is my 4th challenge in 3 months. I'm 42, married to a wonderful, but non-athletic/non-competitive wife, and am the Father of 3 great boyz (I like spelling it that way), and a 9-month old 1/2 Australian Shepard, 1/2 Golden Retriever mix puppy named Taz. I started training for tri's just last fall (2006). All my firsts were just this past year (weird to say that since it's only the 1st day of Jan. 2008) - first marathon back in May, 2007, first triathlon was the 1/2 IM in Racine in July, 2007, and then my first IM was IM Moo (IMWI) in Sept., 2007. I told myself that if I was going to accomplish something, I was going all out. I chose the swim challenge again because that is the area that I need to heavily work on, and being on the (GREATEST) swimming team in this challenge keeps me motivated and dedicated to continue working on that aspect. My one and only tri that I have signed up for this coming year is the 1/2 IM in Racine, WI, again. This time, I'll be ready for Lake Michigan's waves and current. I foresee a lot of fun with this team and feel that we all will surpass our expectations. Happy New Year, and LET'S GO!! |
