I'm worried I might hit a major depression from not having my Tiger avatar. I feel like my identity has been torn away!!! Don't worry! We all know you as the tiger as we all know Dee as the twinkie. Um. Uh. Yeah. LOL |

I haven't been swimming in forever, but my ear starting hurting on Saturday and it still hurts. It seems odd. Rubbing alcohol in your ear helps with that after a swim. It will 'dry' any moisture out of your ear... If you want to get all fancy, you can get EAR*O. It's basically rubbing alcohol in a small dropper bottle. Good luck. Better yet, buy a bottle of cheapo rubbing alcohol. Label it "EAR*O." Tell everyone that you use the expensive stuff. |

I haven't been swimming in forever, but my ear starting hurting on Saturday and it still hurts. It seems odd. Sure! It just means that you have (You've taken microbiology, I'm thinking? LOL) "Stuff" doesn't care how old you are. It just is happy that you've provided it with a comfortable home. I agree with Sal - rubbing alcohol dries it out well. (But if you have an ear infection now, you may not want to put alcohol in there. You might be yelling, "Ouch!"... Of course, as long as you don't record a sound file of it, I'm probably too far away to hear you yell.) |

Because everyone seemed to have 'ideas' for it last year! Well there were lots of suggestions... One on one yellow jersey type comps (kind of like what Pat and I did with the swim challenge) between people with similar goals Someone suggested putting teams together of say 10 people who together will ride the entire length of the TDF route (theoretically if you add all their ride times up) Sprinter: highest speed hit on the bike during the challenge (need a bike computer) Mountain Climbing: for people with bike computers 21 club: Ride all 21 stages (not length just days) Ummm ..... could be all sorts of things I guess... but I need to make sure that its still an anyone can enter situation FIRST! I am thinking everyone will set two goals this year though... Number of Stages (same as last year) AND a distance/time goal - each count for 50% of your overall total... Im not a fan of all of these ideas though!!! Any thoughts? Edited by kaqphin 2008-03-03 9:42 PM |

You're thinking about making your life wayyyyyy complicated! LOL Thoughts, hm.... How about taking those ideas, but limiting them a bit? A jersey for: - Whoever has done the most miles - Whoever has done the most time - Whoever has done the most "stages" They could be 3 different colors. And the person could display them as their avatar. (Or add a sig line stating they were the leader, if they didn't want to change their avatar.) You could update the results each week. Two goals: Number of Stages AND a distance/time goal - each count for 50% of your overall total. That would work. You could set it up on the spreadsheet. I like stuff that's straightforward, and this would be doable. Edited by D001 2008-03-03 9:48 PM |

I think that's the key thing. haha yeah thats how my first challenge started - I wanted to make sure that: 1) It made sense to the international people as much as the Americans 2) newbies had no barrier to entry 3) People using a training plan could join 4) That it made people reach their goals not get frustrated because they didnt/couldnt
If you read my first challenge announcements they are all about - anyone, everyone, one big happy family - lets support each other and reach our goals together.... Actually maybe not much has changed |

People have lots of ideas. (Some are better than others. Some will work better than others.) But, in the end, you're the one who has to organize and run it. So pick what's best, and what you like the best. You've done a great job with the challenges. So tweak what you want to tweak, (if anything,) and just run with it. |
