Tomorrow I'm heading for NC for the weekend. Alive at Five (free music concert in down town Asheville), Hiking, maybe some swimming and visiting family. No internet for the most part unless I visit the library.

Very nice!

Guess what I'll be doing this weekend?

(Did you guess "working"? Yep yep yep. You are a contest winner.)

One of these days we'll have to be in Asheville at the same time. But you do work hard to keep yourself mysterious.

Um, well, it's more that I work a lot (which isn't actually a positive thing), then that I try to remain "mysterious." Plus, I don't go to Asheville often....

That sux. Although if someone promised a cortisone shot would make my hips all better, I might take them up on it at this point.

Are they still bothering you?

Maybe we could get a cortisone shot "quantity discount" together. LOL

Okay, I'm off to read my book! The seduction one. Hmmmm!

Enjoy! And have fun in Asheville. Wave as you pass through Greenville

Or even better -- ride up to Saluda with Pam.

barqhead - 2008-08-14 9:23 PM The ones who know that I've registered for an ironman already think I'm insane. Seriously, though. I do teach adults, especially triathletes. Someone has to spread the good news that kicking is not a sin! I can't believe how many triathletes drag their legs through the water "saving" them for the bike and run. And then curse at how tired they are coming out of the water, LOL. Heather, when we had a roof rack, we would put the trash can just inside the garage door in the car's parking spot. So we always had to stop to move it out of the way. "What the?" Oh yeah, bikes are on top of car
Paragraph 1: Um. Can't argue with that. Although I think you're crazier for riding up to Saluda. Paragraph 2: Kicking? What's that? Paragraph 3: I had a bike once. I had a boyfriend too. He put my bike on the roof rack, next to his bike. I wasn't with him when "it" happened, nor would he ever tell me exactly "what" happened. But to make a long story short, my bike was not on the roof when he came back. When he pulled it out of the car for me, the wheel was bent in half, and the frame was bent, and the handlebars were, um, not straight, either....

I hope said boyfriend was suitably apologetic and helpful in terms of you getting a new bike....

kaqphin - 2008-08-14 9:21 PM Umm did she tell you what it was? And why you would need a cortisone shot?

Thats not usually the FIRST solution offerred...

She told me to raise my arms above my head. I did. She asked if it hurt when I raised my arm up like that. I said no. She said that it didn't sound like a rotator cuff injury, but if it wasn't better "soon" that she could give me a cortisone shot for it.

Im guessing not a physio or sports doctor or even massage person....

Medical doctor. (They seem to like drugs and shots.)

Like a General Practitioner? I find them good for antibiotics (infections etc) and good for referrals to specialists...

That's one of the many reasons I drive a (gasp!) minivan. Not only can you transport children without them having to sit next to each other, but you can transport bikes safe and sound inside the vehicle

I have a little hatchback... my bike fit in the boot with both wheels off... and in the boot with the back seats down with only the front wheel off...

I have seen an orthopedic guy who is also a triathlete and my team of chiropractors who are triathletes and cyclists and my massage therapist who I "sold" my road bike to for therapy sessions

Should I be happy or sad?

And does this event signify anything? (Such as I'll be finding my belongings in a cardboard box tomorrow?)

Bummer.

I switched browsers and tried again. It worked OK with Netscape.

So I guess I'm still employed.
