Let's figure out how to reinstate everyone who was in the challenge as of the 16th of May. Then, we can do something like they do in diving and gymnastics scoring where the lowest scores get dropped. I suggest that at the end of the month the final team average will be figured after the lowest 10% of participants are dropped (I suggest we use a % rather than a fixed number since the girls have more members than the boys). Does this seem fair? I'd love some buy-in for this (but I suppose I can impose it unilaterally)
Thanks, Nicole
Nicole,
First, thanks for taking over this challenge.
I like your idea about dropping the lowest 10%. This will allow people who really overestimated their goal
(or interest in the challenge
) to be dropped from the calculation.
Also, when I run challenges, I will drop anyone who disappears from BT completely for a two-week period.
(In other words, come May 31st, if they haven't logged onto BT since May 17th, I would drop them.
) But you can do this, or not....
You may want to request one volunteer from each team to act as "Captain." This person can check the logs of people who haven't been updating the spreadsheet. If it's a matter of these people just not updating the spreadsheet, the Captain can do it for them. If the person's blog hasn't been updated, the Captain can check the profile to see if the person has logged in during the last two weeks. Or, if the person has been logging in but not swimming, the CAPTAIN can send ONE PM asking if they've forgotten about the challenge.
(But please limit it to one, so people don't think they're being stalked!
)
For the team captains, Phil has already been checking the guys' blogs.
(And yes, he was nominated/asked by his team.
) So maybe the girls' team could name a Captain.
(I'm thinking you may want to name someone other than Nicole, since she's going to be spending some time with the spreadsheets already.
)
Comments? Questions? Discussion?
Can I turn *blink* mode off now? Or do you want me to pull out my taser collection?
