Does anyone know Katie's husband's bib number for the marathon?  Universal Sports is showing it live.  Thought I'd look for him while I made breakfast.

Then off to a harvest festival and 5K for me.

Happy Sunday!

Nice way to spend a Saturday! Are there some good running/tri stores in Jax?

Jacksonville running company is my favorite local shoe store. But I have to go to several of the LBSs and runinng stores for tri gear because none of them have a great selection individually.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-10 12:42 PM AFTERNOON GHOULIES.

'braved' a SERIOUS ATTITUDE PROBLEM and got my 11 miler in!  WOOT!

i missin' my Tri training something fierce.  im grumpy as all get out when im run-focused.

Tris, another one of my happy places.

running the trail today helped.  but it took EVERYTHING to get my arse out the door this morning -what im MOST grateful for is this challenge team, because you have/did motivate me in ways that enabled me to get my run done today.

so my 11 miles, TO YOU/FOR YOU!  thank you.

watching live coverage of KONA as i type.  woosh.  incredible!

watched a guy coming out the water, missing the cut-off by 12 seconds.  OH THE AGONY....

enjoying a quiet afternoon at home. pumpkins purchased w the kids!

TACOS for dinner.  Meatloaf and sweet potatoes tomorrow.

RUN HAPPY!

PS GO CHRISSY!!!

Way to go on the 11 miler! I'm going to try and get Universal Sports to work now so I can watch Kona as well. Have a nice day!

Thanks TOM.  i havent had to 'fight' to get a run in in a very looooooong time.  im glad that i had the presence of mind and the support of SUPER DUPER GREAT CHALLENGE TEAM who spurred me on to get it done!

and wasnt KONA spectacular?  hope you were able to tune in...i thought the coverage on universalsports was just GRAND!  i really appreciated the commentary, and especially enjoyed the phone in from the 'special guest'  (wont spoil the 'surprise')

Hey Guys! I survived Neonathon! Hahahaha! It was pretty epic!

I woke up at 10 this morning and lazed around for a bit. I did a short trainer ride and some core work! Now I am chilling and watching my friend study while doing random things on the internet! Ya long weekend!

GLAD YOU SURVIVED your NEONATHON.   sounds like it was going to be lots of fun!

Evening drive by as I watch The OSU beat Wisconsin and prepping to watch LSU v Florida.  Was going to watch my Rockies play Philly but they called it before it even started due to snow and cold.

I could watch CU v Texas but that is going to be a good old fashioned A** Whopping so no need to waste the time.

Have a great evening and my son and I are going to watch Notre Dame play the Canadian National Team in Lacrosse tomorrow at our high school - that should be cool.

WHAT????

no KONA viewing for you mr graves?

and here i thought you were a triathlete.

j/k.

sounds like a GREAT day of TV viewing!

kcarroll - 2009-10-10 5:53 PM Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.  Heading out for dinner...new Thai restaurant in town.  Yum. Even better, it is byob....would much rather bring the wine.  Tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at a race that is a great fund raiser for the Visiting Nurse 'n Adult Day Care Center...I get to be split timer this year. One of these years I'll probably be a resident.  It's a great cause, which makes it all the more fun.   Playing soccer in the afternoon and will be checking in on Kona in between.

oooooh THAI.  wish i could have joined you.

iowagander - 2009-10-10 9:46 PM It was great to watch the online coverage of Kona today - right up until the feed cut out right before Chrissie went down the chute! Grr... I got the signal back just in time for her interview after setting the WR. That was really cool to watch.

The men's race was incredible today too. Chris really showed some phenomenal improvement holding off Craig until mile 20 or so. The highlight show should be really good this year.

YOURS TOO TOM?  and here i thought it was just my computer.

blasted.

the interview WAS really cool to watch.  she was so genuinely happy and emotional and i love how she finished the interview and started going over to 'thank' the crowd....

ive heard from several friends who have seen her compete in other tris, how genuinely warm and friendly she is, how at one race (that she won of course) she stayed to the end of the race, to hand out medals to ALL the runners.

Crowie seems the same way, very genuine and an all-around nice fellow.

sure beats the inflated EGOs you see in some athletes.....

what wonderful representatives for the TRI scene.

Good morning Ghoulies, I hope everyone is well.

Great running the past couple days everyone. Friday was a rest day for me and yesterday was cross-training, it feels weird not running for 2 days but I'll be putting in 4 miles here shortly. I'm also following that up with a 10 mile hike of the Appalachian Trail this afternoon.

Stacie - I'm with you on the moodiness because of no triathlons. I signed up for a half marathon in January, in Arizona just to give me something to do. Is it too early to start wishing for springtime to arrive?

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

ya know what, GHOULIES.

unless something drastically changes.

im thinking instead of swimming, im gonna take a day of rest today

looking back on my trng calendar, i did six days on - one day off - one day on (long run) - i think an xtra day of rest will do me some good.  that way i can hit it 'hard' this coming week....

thats all i wanted to say.

HAVE A HAPPY EVERYONE.

ANN its actually good to hear that im not the only one....though im certainly not glad that we have to be plagued by the post-tri season grumpies.

what ive realized in this 'season' of run-focus is that i LOVE LOVE LOVE (did i say how much i LOVE...)Tri training...it truly 'suits' me.

and ive questioned what the hell i was thinking scheduling this 1/2 MARY.  but, i have friends coming in to run it with me, and a bunch of members of the tri club here in the Burgh are running too.

and i did want to see if a 1/2 was still 'in' me now that ive fully recovered from my injury, and to see if a 1/2 IM is in my tri'ing future....

but to frank, physically im just really run down (hence the rest day today) and i think a lot has to do w upping my run mileage.  i was 'fine' until i hit the 10-11 mile mark.

im thinking i must have a threshold there or something....though,

i think it would be different if it was 'balanced' out w equal amts of swimming and cycling, but....im just in maintenance mode in those two disciplines, i didnt want to be trng for a 'phantom' 1/2 IM.

that said, i dont think its too soon to wish for springtime to come.

im wishing for the same thing.
