NICE! Thanks for the info TJ! And, I like the swim and bike write ups ... waiting for the run... although, I think after the last 2 years racing and coming down there to train, I know just about every step of that loop now! LOL .... |

Did they relay any information WHEN they will be doing this? I want to be able to plan my rides accordingly. Way out there to have to find an alternate route if it's closed to through traffic. |

No. I didn't get that much detail. I have 1 more call I made that I haven't heard back from. He might give me more detail. Edited by tjfry 2013-04-23 3:07 PM |

First long range forecast for May 18th is up on Accuweather. 70/85 SSW winds 4-9 .... chance of a morning thunderstorm, clouds giving way to sunshine. I hope after the 100 changes to that forecast between now and race day that we end up with those conditions! |

Interesting, I'm sure it will change though - hope for the best train, for the worse. I swam this morning and the temp outside was 49 degrees...in southeast Texas at the end of April. WTF? I haven't been able to train in the heat. |

My wife is getting tired of me saying the word: "acclimate" when describing our weekend plans. On a unrelated but entertaining note: I was assigned number 666 for the race. I emailed and asked if I could get it changed (who wants that # on their first IM photos?) - and they actually accommodated my request. |

Hopefully the Traffic will not be an issue. I'm glad I'm not the organizer of the Montgomery Madness 5k mud run. What a cluster that will be! The even will be at buffalo springs and lone star parkway goes through that area. People will be missing their waves due to traffic not flowing on 105 because of the race. Imtx will also have a mobile hospital right by that location this year. the ambulances will be stationed at the elementary school or fire station on the edge of buffalo spings. Wow, that is poor planning! |

The intersections are not closed but police will stop traffic to allow bikers through. I remember coming back into the woodlands last year behind a LONG line of stopped cars and thought to myself, "that sucks to be those guys". At the same time I was waiting for a door to open from a pissed motorist to knock me off my bike. I did not hear of any issues last year but in 2011 bikers were stopped for an extended period of time to let cars through. |

No random triathlon dreams yet.....but those will come soon. This will probably be the slowest 24 days in the world. |

Dude that would have been awesome. I'd rock that bad boy race number "I'm racing and hell's coming with me." |

Every muscle cramp, ache, stiffness, and even the slightest case of the sniffles has got me thinking the worst in everything. Last night on my run I talked myself into believing my ankle was sprained. That was mile 2 out of twelve. I'm beginning to realize it's just all in my head at this point. |

I've been freaking out the past week over my ankle and actually took a week off running. I think I might be more paranoid about being injured than I am actually injured (hopefully!). I couldn't imagine training so hard only to have something happen now. I think less running was a good idea for me because I feel great now. Just did a 10.5 mile run and had a few people exclaim how good for me to run in this heat. I just checked weather.com. It's only 74! |

My friend got that for Rumpus last year and had a lot of fun with it. That's awesome they changed it! DC has been ridiculously cold this year... hoping the time on the trainer paid off... Did get a nice run in today in the 70 degree weather... acclimate is definitely going to be a key word |
