OMG!  What a wonderful race. I haven't done my RR yet because I am about to go crash nekkid on the bed under the fan. I am a bit dehydrated too.  It was FUN! And what a beautiful place to race! WOW!  Very hot though but everything I wanted to happen, HAPPENED! So I'm very pleased

It was a sprint, but 15 mile bike and 4 mile run.  1/3 mile swim. God the water was PERFECT.  Leslie and I jumped in it after the race..oh the steam that came off my body! It was great.

I finished in 2:16.  Not too shabby. The run I did like a walk 2 min, run 5, it varied but I kept moving. It was hot and I needed water....someone actually let me share their bottle.  All I have to work on now is getting my speed up a bit.

That is an awesome time, you should be very proud.  The best way to get faster is to just keep doing it, and push yourself.  Congrats on a job well done.

Thank you! I am just happy I was consistent!  A little slow but there's only room for improvement.  Here's a pic from last year, I just posted this in my blog:

Nice pictures!!!  Looks lovely there.  I left my camera at my friends house Which is pants because tomorrow I'm going to be riding the ducks around downtown Seattle and I have NO CAMERA!  BOOO!

I designed this t-shirt today and ordered it because at races people ALWAYS ask where I'm from and Leslie and I were discussing this on the way home. Only $23 + free shipping. I love, love, love it!

Okay...I have a new appreciation for ocean swims now! I've swam at the beach millions of times but this time was different...I had on my goggles, my swim cap and I was breathing to the left & right perfectly (well...maybe not perfectly!).

Long story short - I had 1/2 hour I was going to swim. I went to the beach at 5:30 a.m. and realized I was getting ready to be inducted into the Polar Bear Swim Club - NO WAY! YIKES! That water was WAY TOO COLD! So, I stood out there, toes in the water, freezing to death with my towel wrapped around me. An HOUR later I finally got into the water. For the first few hundred yards I couldn't even put my face down in the stuff. It was like swimming in an ice bath! Finally I did it, though. Only problem is...16 minutes into my 1/2 hour swim I got stung not once, not twice but THREE TIMES by jellyfish!!! OUCH, OUCH and more OUCH! For 42 years of my life I've never been stung AT ALL and here I am with three at one time!!! When I realized what had happened I started heading toward the shore...ticked off that I had to stop my workout early and scared to death because when I looked all around me there were jellyfish everywhere!!!! I was like GET ME THE CRAP OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two hours later I'm still burning....but I'll survive....I'll just stay on the boardwalk and RUN!

BTW, I'll put up some pics later...no, not of the jellyfish...or my red as can be arms and legs...
