Grr... I got the signal back just in time for her interview after setting the WR. That was really cool to watch. The men's race was incredible today too. Chris really showed some phenomenal improvement holding off Craig until mile 20 or so. The highlight show should be really good this year. YOURS TOO TOM? and here i thought it was just my computer. blasted. the interview WAS really cool to watch. she was so genuinely happy and emotional and i love how she finished the interview and started going over to 'thank' the crowd.... ive heard from several friends who have seen her compete in other tris, how genuinely warm and friendly she is, how at one race (that she won of course) she stayed to the end of the race, to hand out medals to ALL the runners. Crowie seems the same way, very genuine and an all-around nice fellow. sure beats the inflated EGOs you see in some athletes..... what wonderful representatives for the TRI scene. stacieb I 100% agree. I remember reading several RR's from that IM where folks had received their medals from her. Very classy. I agree that Crowie seems genuine as well. I thought he was very gracious in his interview, especially towards Chris, who put up a hell of a fight. Hopefully next year is as good as this year! Woo hoo! Kona-Recap-Toppage! I've always running in either tri shorts or basketball style gym shorts. I must say the difference in gym and running shorts was an eye-opener. |

I know it's Florida and we only have 2 seasons, but it would be nice for it to start to change since it is October. It's still gonna be hi 80's all week (heat index above 90), but they say it's gonna cool down to 70 next weekend! |

One of my first runs this past spring was a local 8k that I ran with a few friends. When I showed up in basketball shorts, my friend (who's an experienced runner) mentioned I'd probably enjoy running more in shorts designed for that activity. I didn't think much of it until I experienced some, ahem, chaffage after the run. The next day I got my first real running shorts and haven't worn the basketball shorts out running since. |

Master 1734 On a lake in the Adirondacks in NY | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 Howdy Ghoulies! I had fun at the 5K today. Slow, but it was all on cross country skiing trails, and I'd never done a trail run before. With all the rain we had it was pretty slippery in some spots, and we ran through lots of mud puddles. I had to walk a couple of hills, but my 43:13 finish was middle of the pack, so I'm okay with it. Most of us agreed it was the hardest 5K we'd ever done. Guess I'm not ready for an Xterra yet! |

Have a great evening and my son and I are going to watch Notre Dame play the Canadian National Team in Lacrosse tomorrow at our high school - that should be cool. so you knew that Texas was going to whoop up on CU? believe you me...my dad went to CU...so this is not good news for this texan gal! and not a huge fan of UT! sorry about Rockies game being called! I am actually rooting for Rockies over the Phillies! now, what happens if it continues to snow til say June of next year??? would they play elsewhere? surely they wouldnt wait to play it!!? |
