ceilidh - 2010-12-08 9:13 AM Check this out. I am going to get the family gift certificates for this as a surprise.

That looks awesome! I wanna go, too!

When you come visit, we can go.

Of course I am terrified of heights. I figure it is time to get over that. At least while I would be all tied in and stuff.

I want to do this too!

My hubby is afraid of heights.  He has done a zip line in Mexico with me.  The secret is to not look down, just out.

ceilidh - 2010-12-08 9:39 AM I am hung up on what to get the nephew for Christmas. He is odd. He plays video games and plays trumpet in the school band. As far as I can tell, that is all he is interested in. He does not even have a drivers license to go anywhere on his own.
I figured a book on 1000 places to see before you die would be good. The DH's idea was the Kama Sutra and some condoms.

If all he's into is video games and the band, your husbands idea might be one of those gifts that goes unused. Sad, but possibly true

How old is he?

17. Which is why his lack of interest in anything is hard to figure.

Get him a fancy game controller.

wgraves7582 - 2010-12-08 3:36 PM Alright well I am going to go back to playing video games for 60 more minutes before I can "officially leave for the day"

Everytime I think about it I get more upset - I really don't like dumb people - just saying!

How's the video game going?

ironannekidd - 2010-12-08 8:38 AM I will post some Christmas quotes today

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Awww. I like that.

ironannekidd - 2010-12-08 8:39 AM One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day.  Don't clean it up too quickly.

Amen. The hubby always wants to clean up right away. I like to revel in the mess a bit. It never looks like that any other day, just sit back and enjoy it.

We have a picture of my son when he was about 7 months old, sitting in his johnny jump-uphung from the doorway. The pile of wrapping paper in front of him was so high, and he wanted to get into it sooo bad. He was jumping and lunging forward so hard he was swinging up over the pile, over and over. Giggling the whole time. It was so fun to watch.

deehtz - 2010-12-08 10:40 AM I am so excited!

I DID get my long run in yesterday that I missed on Sunday.  I am very pleased and slightly shocked!  I had planned 9.5 miles at 12:00 pace (I only jog, not run).  This would have taken me about 1 hour 55 minutes.  I wasn't running a pre-measured course, so I tried to run a comfortably slow pace for 2 hours.  When I mapped it out, I had run over 11 miles!   I checked it numerous times because I couldn't believe that I had gone that far that fast!  This meant about 10:40 pace for my longest distance!  Crazy!  But wonderful !!!!  And I am not really sore, just a little like any long jog.  Whoo hoo!!  Laughing

This is a real milestone and makes me feel really good looking toward my 1/2 marathon in February!

Fanddamtastic, Lady!

The difference between a runner and a jogger is an entry form. YOU are a RUNNER!

ironannekidd - 2010-12-08 11:57 AM Things never go as I have planned. I got a call from the school about an hour ago. My daughter fell at recess and split her head open. I raced to the school to get her.

She split her head open on the side, near the back. If I took her to Ready Care or the ER, they'd put a stitch or 2 in it. I'm not going to take her though. The bleeding is stopped, and she's pretty emotional already. If it were somewhere else I'd get her stitches. She can live with a scar on her head. I'll take care of it here. She'll be fine.

We're sitting in our recliner now watching a Disney Movie. There may be a nap involved for me very soon.

round here we do staples on scalps. Much quicker, heals up nicely, and no issues with having to trim the hair down. Still not soething you would do voluntarily, but whatchya gonna do?

Heal quickly little one!

Also instead of going to swimming I came home to play with my bike...well, let's'just say I was fiddling with something and took it apart--ya ya shhh--and then couldn't get it back together because it required holding and pushing a pin in and my hands/ I am not strong enough...so I required my Dad to do it...sigh...I cannot function without a man and do technical things...ya...looks like I am living at home for awhile...haha..*sigh...melissa has weak hands and can't grip things tightly...life lesson learned: don't take things like pedals apart...*embarassed face...

Hi Princess! Glad you are enjoying MSK. My world still revolves around blood. Hematology rocks. Training, unfortunately has been on a hiatus.

When do you leave for HI?

Enjoy the Xmas party! Even better, enjoy Maui. Awesome place to spend the holidays.

This week has been a waste, training wise. That said, I have packed my bag and am planning to go to masters swim tomorrow.
