Is that a new weapons program for the Navy?

Heehee!!!!! Micronesia's latest addition to their navy!

Apparently, BTer's with too much time on their hands is a dangerous thing, too.

spokes - 2006-11-06 4:29 PM Y'all need to come up with some new ideas so our little group of 4-6 isn't the only ones keeping this thread going.

I concur with that sentiment.

You know, I was thinking that it's funny how we get a few people who drift into the conversation, then sorta drift back out, but there's a core group of us who seem intent on posting to this thread. It's an interesting social experiment at this point. LMAO!!!! Now I want to see the statistics of who viewed it, when, how often, and who posted, when and how often......

Oh, God, I'm a total geek.....

Don't worry, I'm still paying attention. Staying well away, but still paying attention.

Perhaps you need to get back to the range for some target practice.

You know as my eyesight worsens, I find myself relying more and more on sawed off shotguns and grenades. So impersonal.....

No experience grenades myself but you sure don't need to aim much with the scatter gun.  (just stay behind it)

I personally recommend the MK-19 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
Capable of 325-375 rounds / minute. Fires belted 40mm grenades, including anti-personnel and light anti-armor rounds.

Reach out, reach out and touch someone.

Reach out and touch a bunch with that bad boy!

Is this the beast of which you speak?

We've come long ways from the M-79 "blooper" of my day.

Now, we mount it underneath an M16, and call it the M203. Thing works pretty well (fairly close to the original design of the M-79, but with added safety features). It is, however a real b*tch to fire from the prone while wearing a flak vest and helmet, in a driving rain at about 34 degrees F. When your fingers start to freeze into the shape of the round, it almost makes it easier to pick up....

Yeah we had the "203", but I never liked it.

Takes getting used to, I suppose. I was never the grenadier, so I can't say for certain. Besides, as an engineer, we came up with more......"creative" methods anyway.

Really cool thing was I had a buddy who managed to airburst the line charge from a MICLIC (Mine Clearing Line Charge, it's basically a rocket that shoots out and tails a 500m length of about a ton of C4 charges. Looks like sausage links.). Generally, you wait for the charge to settle on the ground, but the rocket broke free, and the charge was going to be ineffectual, so he triggered it about 5 ft off the ground. THAT was cool. Pretty effective at pushing surface mines outta the way, too.

You "boots on the ground" types got to play with all the cool toys.

Some of us just got to look out the window for hours on end.

Hey, it ain't all that glamorous. Try spending hours on end with nothing to look at but the 4 walls of the M113. The best place to nap is to wedge your helmet between the radio mount and the gas tank. Holds it up pretty good.

There's also the whole sleeping on the ground in the elements thing too.
