I had fun at the 5K today. Slow, but it was all on cross country skiing trails, and I'd never done a trail run before. With all the rain we had it was pretty slippery in some spots, and we ran through lots of mud puddles. I had to walk a couple of hills, but my 43:13 finish was middle of the pack, so I'm okay with it. Most of us agreed it was the hardest 5K we'd ever done. Guess I'm not ready for an Xterra yet! good job Debs!! middle of the pack is awesome with no trail running experience! bet your hooked! I love running trails! I prefer it! but just hate driving to them! where was the race held? and looked for your race report - did you fill one out? I'll do a RR as soon as they post the results online. I wrote down my time, but I don't know exactly where I placed. Duh, guess I should have looked! The race was held at Gore Mountain, a local ski resort. Beautiful fall day on the mountain. |

As for your conundrum, I hate to say it but it's against man-code to dissuade ANYBODY from eating chili, at any time, for any reason. Sorry... At least it'll be with a salad! |

Heading out for dinner...new Thai restaurant in town. Yum. Even better, it is byob....would much rather bring the wine. Tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at a race that is a great fund raiser for the Visiting Nurse 'n Adult Day Care Center...I get to be split timer this year. One of these years I'll probably be a resident. It's a great cause, which makes it all the more fun. Playing soccer in the afternoon and will be checking in on Kona in between. oooooh THAI. wish i could have joined you. whats you favorite dish, KIM? sounds like a FULL day! stacieb I really like spicy food. Had a veggie green curry. Yumm. I also like good ol Pad Thai with tofu. |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 Beautiful day here on the east coast. Started out volunteering at a local race, then hit the farmers market. Brought home fresh eggs, local cheese and tons of veggies. So, tonight's dinner will be penne with broccoli, garlic and feta. I'll make enough for leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. I foresee omelets playing a prominent role in this week's dinners. |

It's a casual rec league, but who am I kidding...I'd rather win than lose. Played half back so ran alot. Not part of my monthly goal, but a great workout. Forces me to do some speedwork. |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 Forgot to mention, at the farmers market today they had alpaca's. They were selling hand made blankets and scarves, but also had a couple of alpaca's there for the goofy adults kids to pet. I would bring one of those home in a heartbeat. Of course, the fact that I live in a a townhouse with no real yard is a rate limiting factor. Next weekend going to bring enough cash to buy a scarf. |

I've always running in either tri shorts or basketball style gym shorts. I must say the difference in gym and running shorts was an eye-opener. x2 on that... One of my first runs this past spring was a local 8k that I ran with a few friends. When I showed up in basketball shorts, my friend (who's an experienced runner) mentioned I'd probably enjoy running more in shorts designed for that activity. I didn't think much of it until I experienced some, ahem, chaffage after the run. The next day I got my first real running shorts and haven't worn the basketball shorts out running since. Yes, and running shorts are, ahem, much more liberating! |
