OMG 99 cents? Here they are usually $15-20......

Yikes!

That would stop the margarita indulgences for sure.

What's the cost of a good mojito?

although......................for the taco rides, for me - it was the cost of a cheap bottle of rum or mint, or  limes, or any of the other ingrediants that we split up

the lead mojito maker 'D' would divy up the shopping list  and for a very low cost we made a whole lot of mojitos!

I've made it my official beach drink.  I have a friend with a boat in Perdido, and a friend's boat is the best kind of boat.  Anyway, there is nothing like hopping across the intercoastal to Lulu's, docking up and sipping a delicious mojito.

Ahhhhh.... the beach.  I could so go for that right now.

lastcall2003 - 2008-05-14 11:31 PM so, where is Perdido?

A few miles west of Pensacola, pretty much right on the border of Bama and Florida.  AKA, where Ivan left a mark.

LOL

ok, so - I am geographically and directionally challenged - other than those two flaws, I am really quite intelligent

so, who's Ivan (like Ivan the terrible?)

where is Bama -

so sorry to disappoint :P

You don't know about the infamous Flora-Bama lounge?

Ok, so at the far west of the Florida pandle is Perdido (just west of Pensacola and Pensacola Bay).  Keep going west for just a few miles and you hit the Alabama border, which is Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.  Keep going west and it's Mobile Bay and Mobile.

Ivan was a ***** of a hurricane in 2004.  While it didn't quite look like the Mississippi coast after Katrina, it did nearly rip the area to pieces.

Sesh - thanks for the nice post in Tri Talk.

Truth be known, I simply don't like swimming if its work. Playing in the water is fine, but in my heart of hearts I want to see how hard I can get away with hammering the bike and run, and I'd rather spend the time I'd spend in the pool lifting weights and putting on some arm and shoulder definition. I *would* do more swim stuff if it came more naturally to me, though.

so - don't swim

run, bike and enjoy

but let's not get into a debate about swimming, ok?

Noooo problem.

Dude.... century rides.  Have you done them before?  You sound like you'd love the heck out of them.  They are just tops.  I really do think you'd find what you want in them.  They aren't competative races, but they definitely test you.  REALLY test you.

Swimming totally rips your arms, by the way.  I mean makes them lean and bada$$ looking if that's the motivation you're looking for.  Of course, take all I say about swimming lightly.  It does come pretty easy for me (was on a team at the age of 7 or 8), though I hate the smell of chlorine with all my soul.  Beth says it's hot though, so I'm sticking with it.

Nah... you know about where you spend your time, and I spend a lot down there.  Though I wish it were so, so, so, so much more.  Sunsets over the water, the Blue Angels practicing over the Gulf, white sand beaches, fresh shrimp, flounder, and lemon fish off the boats, raw oysters, and I could go on and on and on and on...
