pdbman - 2010-11-08 11:47 AM Hey! I found my missing glasses. They were in my coat pocket. And to think I suffered through the whole weekend trying to read without them and I had them the whole time.

Well, they aren't missing if they were found.

TriAya - 2010-11-08 11:17 AM I just threw a temper tantrum about the mosquitoes.

I really lost it.

I was slamming the walls anywhere a mosquito was near.

I went crazy with the RAID can.

I just can't believe I'm still getting eaten with three coats of 100% DEET on every inch of my skin, whether under clothing or not. I think my face is going to peel off.

And still my skin feels like it's also on fire (and I've got half-golf-ball sized bruised, swollen, ITCHY lumps) from the bites.

Not good.

I know... do you think it could be diabetes? Or could it stand alone without diabetes?
Your 3 !'s and you being a nurse, I will talk to my doctor on my next visit.

Hypoglyceia can stand alone.
Usually the presenting signs for diabetes are the *polys* - dipsia (thirsty), - uria (pee like a race horse all the time ,  and  -phagia (eat everything not nailed down) but still losing weight cause the food isn't metabolised right and it's going right through you.

Well, that rules out diabetes for me. I may be thirsty all the time, pee like a race horse, and eat everything in sight, but I am definitely not losing weight.

yeah - x 2 :-)

I'm PIZZED. Sure, it's hideous, uncomfortable, and even somewhat painful right now, but I'm also angry about having spent WEEKS--dengue AND chikungunya--REALLY sick and in a LOT of pain.

Sorry, just venting, ranting, and generally continuing my temper tantrum without further damaging my sister's walls.

Don't you hate it when that happens?  I do stuff like that all the time.  Nothing beats my horseback riding instructor though.  She had a pair of glasses on top of her head another around her neck and was running around trying to find her glasses.  Another time she was leading a horse around all the barns looking for his halter which was on the horse's head.

I went swimming with two pairs of goggles last Sunday ... I "lost" the pair that was around my neck.

Sigh. I just got another one on my shin that swelled so badly the skin broke

It's one of those very rare times when I seriously consider relocating.

I know my problems are not bad. I'm just angry right now.

We're not being very productive at work today. Ok, even less productive than normal. It's been raining, and not even that hard, but enough that things are flooding here. They have closed the road because the water is so deep. It's half way to our building. The parking lot is now empty except for the guy who pulled his car up on the sidewalk so he can get in without getting wet. The rest of us have moved to higher ground. Before they closed the road, the water was deep enough that it would wash up over the hood of cars that were driving through. And its only getting deeper. People keep cutting through our parking lot so the can get around the road block but end up turning around. I just watched one car that tried to cut through the center of the parking lot and BAM they bounced up on the center median that is covered with water.

And its still getting colder as the snow is starting and we progress toward below freezing temps predicted for tonight.

Actually, anger is better than misery. Not by much, though. Troof is "misery" is what I was in when I was really sick.

Thanks

Exactly. It is fun to watch. So far the flooding is just this street and not serious enough to cause any damage. Cars drive around the barricade and cruise down the street at normal speed and then hit the deep water and it slows them down really fast. They pause for a moment like they're trying to decide if they should comtinue or turn back. Its definitely deep enough to come in the doors so I'm sure some people are getting wet feet. I'm waiting for someone to stall and get stuck.

Yeah...  that's just crazy!

My afternoon of fun in the gym turned into a meeting with my boss.  Ugh!  I'll just have to do it after I bike tonight.  I'm off now to navigate my way home through all these people who don't know how to drive in the snow.  How do these people forget that it snows in Upstate NY EVERY winter and often?!  I miss Buffalo!!!

mbasta - 2010-11-08 10:08 PM Good morning Crushers!

I finally finished my scarf! Not without excitement though... I was watching a you tube video on how to cast off and the way it was demonstrated caused me to do the final stitch wrong - which means no knot and scarf starts to unravel! I'm so happy this thing is finally done.

Oh, and yesterday was Coke free!

Is that 2 coke free days now? Great!
