Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL Anyone ever have a DUHHH moment? I was running along with Eli this morning - it was around 11am and hot, so I was running him up to our local park, so he could swim in the river, then we'd run back. As we're on the road, my knees were aching. I never have problems with my knees, so I was concerned. Then all of a sudden - I realized ... I haven't bought new shoes since January. It's almost July, and I've trained for and completed a HIM since then. Time for new shoes I went out and picked up some spiffy new Mizuno Wave Rider 13's. I've been in the 12's for almost a year now, and enjoyed them. The 13's actually seem to hold my orthotics better, and I LOVE the blue/silver color scheme. Yay. I also purchased two books at the store: Be Iron Fit (by Don Fink) and Going Long (Joe Friel). Uh oh |

Summer is going nicely. Not happy at work right now and I'm thinking it's time for me to move on. But to what? And who's going to pay the bills? So maybe not ready right now. My boss knows I'm not happy and he's trying to help me figure out what to do. Boss is a friend too but I don't think it is the best thing to have a boss know you're not happy... I haven't read previous posts so I hope all is well. Maybe I'll take the time today to get semi-caught up. Love you all, Patty Patty - Congrats! I hope the wedding was a blast I agree with Steve - pictures! Sorry to hear about work. Mark recently quit his job so he could move back to NJ to be closer to me. I loooove having him around again, but he hasn't been able to find a new job yet (besides working on a local farm and doing odd jobs), which is stressful. The economy is none too good, but happiness is also important. I hope you get it figured out soon! |

Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL stevebradley - 2010-06-24 9:50 AM JESS - In my world that is now controlled by the concept of WWLD (What Would Lisa Do?), I know I will face disapproval if I travel a long way for a sprint tri......so I am now trying to piggyback these. I did that at Escape the Cape and Pirate a week-and-a-half ago, and I now have another scheme I'm cooking up -- which might involve you! I am registered for West Point Tri on August 15, and am seriously considering Long Branch on the 14th. In fact, I was all set to register for it a few minutes ago, but the reg form won't process my CDN postal code; I have emailed them to see if they will allow me to use Jane's NYC address. That would have me driving to LB on the Friday, doing the race (love the distances -- 600, 22+, 5), then driving the relatively short distance up to Newburgh, where I would stay Saturday night for the Sunday WPT. Are you giving any thought to that particular Long Branch event? I would love to do the Long Branch Tri with you! I think I'll be doing the Ramapo Rally as my first ever CENTURY on August 15 But that won't be a race - that'll be a long slow ride, so I should be ok to do Long Branch the day before, right? Right? I love the LB Tri series - seriously low key, but good support (they must have the entire police force of long branch out there - seriously a cop at every intersection!) The swim last year was intense - the surf was really rough that day. The bike course was a fun two-loop affair, and the 5 mile run was flat and fast around the boardwalk. And Long Branch is going through a 're-development' period, so it's always good to support the town. If you're in, I'm in |

Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL As for me, I haven't figured out the rest of my season yet. What I have as of now: - July 18: Iams Doggy Dash - affiliated with the NYC Triathlon - July 25: NJ State Oly I am considering adding the Detroit Triathlon (July 11th) - I'll be in Michigan that weekend for a family reunion (did I ever mention that pretty much my whole family is from Michigan? It should be a great party!) and I think it would be super cool to get in a race in a different part of the country. Plus it's relatively cheap. I can't find any reviews on the internet, so I know nothing about the race, but it could be fun http://www.elementevents.com/events/29 After that? Long Branch Tri on August 14th is a probable go, and definite if Steve comes down. After that everything's in the air. Want to do a September or October HIM. Top contenders are: Half Full Tri, Syracuse 70.3, Mightyman or the Patriots Half down in Williamsburg, VA on Sept. 11. |

jess! uh oh is right! you're buying IM books!? you're just one small little nudge away from registering. that's great that mark is back near you. life sounds really good right now for you. i'm glad. you deserve it.
ryan and i have one hell of a week coming at us this week. in total 21 hours of swim/bike/run including 2 more century rides. ugh. it's hilarious how messed up the triathlon mind-set is. today we got a note from scott (coach) telling us to "rest up" today. i then looked up the schedule and we had a 3000m swim and a 5 mile run on the agenda. since when is that rest?! oh brother.
...on a sad note, did you hear about the death during the philly sprint on saturday? a 40 year old man never got out of the water. his poor family was at the exit waiting for him and he never came out. i cannot imagine how devastating this is for a family. he was married and had two sons, ages 15 and 17. we had a handful of fexies doing the sprint on saturday and said the water was extremely calm with almost perfect conditions. makes you think that it almost had to be a medical condition. either way, it's terrible. they turned sundays oly into a du because they were still searching for him the next day. they found him sunday afternoon. terrible terrible terrible. on a happier note, a fexy woman was the overall winner at yesterday's celebration sprint. this is the first annual sprint started by the columbia tri folks. she is 47!!! awesome. any word on neil and how is injury is coming along? hope you are all doing well! |

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL LISA - Yes, it was a good one, but I'm miffed again at Tupper and its organization. I LOVE supporting the older races that have resisted branding....but tupper pushes the limits quite a bit. They always mismeasure, and sometimes it's WAY off, such as this year's swim. The top guys in the sprint were listed as having 2:12/100m pace, and mine was something like 3:46. Come ON! I knew looking out at the lake that it was much more than 0.6mile, but those pace numbers show that soemthing was way off. But, that's Tupper. And I figue the run was maybe 6.4 or 6.5 miles, as opposed to 6.2. But, we all had the same distnces -- WHATEVER they were! -- and I raced it well and placed high. Sprint starts at 8, but awards aren't until after 1 so as to include the half-iron winners. (I didn't wait for them.) BBQ doesn't start until around then, too, although there is something to be said for that, i guess. I have other gripes, but I'll just leave it there and say tht I don't think i will do Tupper again. Oh, I will add this: Until about '02 or '03, Tupper was THE premier NE half-iron, and even had qualifying spots for IMLP. Those went away about '04, and while some people still use Tupper as a valid tune-up for LP, those numbers are diiminishing. Two years ago the HIM run was 13.4, which just shouldn't happen. The general feeling is that the run is perennially long by 0.2 or 0.3. And no mileage markers on the run. Not one. Tough run course for the 10km of the sprint, and mileage markers would help a lot with perceived pacing. I think I'm done now. |

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL LISA again - Good god almighty, those are killer weeks that Scott is putting you through! Where do you have to go to get quality centuries, anyhow -- abouit 30 miles to the west? Did you do the 3000m swim and the 5mile run today, like a good doobee? Of course, as long as you can stay healthy through all of this, you will indeed be more than ready for LOO. Have both of you managed to keep your immune systems strong? I knew you eat well, and maybe even really well, so that will help a lot. And sleep, I think you once told us your a world-class sleeper; is that still the case? Let me check again -- is it clear sailing for you until LOO, with nothing on the horizon? Or is there one smallish something that you are considering? Thank you for Giant Acorn -- which I eventually managed to remember on my own before I saw your post here. But it took about four hours to come up with it.........and I love oak tress and acorns and it shouldn't've ever been far from the front of my mind. Yikes! Are you liking the high volume at all, or is it really just a necessary evil in the whole process of getting to LOO and doing well there? I was never a glutton for high volume, but as I've said many times, that is more a function of having to do everything on my own; 20-hour weeks were lonely weeks for me! Sleep well -- you've earned it yet again! |

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL JESS - Have you seen that Syracuse has two transition zones? I don't know how you feel about that sort of thing, but it's a negative for me. I wrote the Sandy Hookers last week about not being able to use my Canadian address for registering, but I have heard from them yet. i think I will phone USAT and just make sure that it is okay to use either the zip code for my P.O. box in Rooseveltown, NY, or Jane's address in NYC. I don't think changes-of-address matter at all; people move all the time. But I just don't want to have USAT points negated by some dopey technicality! And then again, maybe the S.H. people will write me tomorrow, and all will be well! Do you know the nature of the trail run segments at NJ State? Is it crushed limestone like on rails-to-trails places, or gnarly tree roots and jagged boulders? |

Master 1524 Reston, VA | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL all of those facts about that race would pretty much have me never doing it again. i understand your frusturation. i did to my 3000m swim. the run ended up being 4 due to a major thunder storm that crept up out of nowhere. we have both remained remarkable healthy during this all. i daresay way more healthy than either of us have ever been on our own in training with significantly less volume. if left to my own devices, i slack for a while and then panic that i'm not doing enough and then do way more than i have the base to sustain, and then get injured. i am actually shocked that other than normal fatigue, i feel great. i'm still getting lots of sleep, but am still pretty much tired all the time. can't sleep all day though. i dropped the ball on nutrition for a few weeks, but hopefully am back on the wagon. after eman i also allowed myself to start drinking again. it took me about a week to realize that i am doing way too much training, it is way too hot and i'm loosing way too much fluid to sustain that. back to being dry for me. i felt like death last week and i attribute it entirely to poor hydration and diet. i do have iron girl sprint on the agenda the week before imloo. i'm not entirely sure i will be doing it, though. i did the reston sprint the week before eman and i felt like i tweaked my hip a little in the hard sprint effort. my thoughts were that the distance wasn't a big deal to do a week before a big race. i didn't think about the intensity, though. sure, i could do iron girl and just reel in my intensity, but i know me, and i know that won't happy. i'll make that decision to do it or not come game time. we'll see. as for the volume, i am enjoying it so far, but i haven't completed the real heavy stuff yet. ask me this time next week. i am definitely feeling like ironman might be a once every 3 (or so) years event for me. the volume makes it hard to keep up at work and have any other life. i do, however, think that i will do a half every year. i REALLY like the half distance and i think if i focus on it I could get quite good at it....which will only make me better at the fulls when i do them. there are several century routes that start from my very own front door. we are so lucky in that we live in a busy area, but it gets significantly more rural very quickly. we had a great ride this past saturday. it took us out to the historic whites ferry, across the potomac, into maryland, up sugarloaf mountain and back. so much fun. i hadn't done it before. the ferry was cool (and only $1 per bike). there are pics up on facebook. agghhh. time has gotten away from me. have to run (not literally, thankfully) to work.

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL LISA - That is excellent that you both have stayed healthy as the volume has creeped/screeched upwards. I don't remember any serious problems in either of my iron builds, but I am generally a pretty healthy person. The big limiter for me is alwaysalwaysalways sleep, and the irony of this is that over the past year I have gotten better at sleeping better......but I'm not really training seriously for anything long. Maybe I ought to sign up for an end-of-season iron if for no other reason than to capitalize on my improved sleep patterns! Slippery Slopes to follow: S.S. #1: An iron every three years. That's what I thought, too, but the last was in '05 and here it is, '10, with no iron on the books. Part of that is money (M-dots next year will be $600!), part of it is feraing injury, part of it is hating to "blow" a race season on an iron-distance. IMLOO isn't the worst that way, but ones such as Couer D'Alene and Placid can mangle a season between May and late August. All hail end-of-the-season irons! S.S. #2: Focusing on shorter distances so as to get better at longer distances in the future. Say! That's where I am right now! It used to be exactly as you phrased it -- focus on HIM so as to get better at IM. But then it took a turn to focusing on olys to get better at HIM, and now I find that I am working at sprints to get better at olys; is there no end to this madness? So just be careful, or else before you know it you too will become a sprint machine! S.S. #3: I forgot. I think there was one in my head ten minutes ago but........WHOOSH! It's gone! Back to #2 -- and trying to be serious! -- working at sprints has made me a better oly person, and I hope that translates into better half-irons at the end of this season. It really all comes down to the run for me, and being able to maintain a strong pace for the whole thing. Beyond that, it comes down to getting comfortable with suffering harder -- knowing what that feels like and how to work through it. I have been quite good for many years at suffering modestly for extended periods, but I have to improve my ability to suffer more viciously for those same extended periods. Red-lining a sprint has made me better at orange-lining an oly, to the point where if I were a box of Crayolas, some of my olys (Lake George last Sept, Columbia) would be the red-orange crayons. The goal is to take my half-irons from the yellow color into the orange -- where pain is palpable, but not akin to feeling I'm staring Death in the face. You know? I didn't realize you were so close to uncivilization! I knew it started somewhere to the west of you, but I figured that you had to travels through a sprawl or three to get there. Once again I say to you ------ lucky girl! I have gazillion miles of country around me, but it is mostly tedious farmland. But your mention of a ferry has me thrinking that I could ride about 90 minutes that would get me to a quick ferry across the Ottawa River which in turn would get me to Quebec and some combination of the Laurentian and Gatineau hills. Maybe I should try that at some point -- especially if I eer decide to do another iron. My other best options are to drive ~50 minutes into the heart of the Gatineau Hills, which I do a few times each season, or drive south into NY and do the roads north of Placid -- or the Placid course itself. Speaking of which, when are you arriving and when will you be leaving? My plan is to trek down there on the 22nd and actch the expo when it opens -- hit the Newton booth while it is still fully-stocked! If you are looking to get some new Newtons and they don't have your size at the expo, a small store on the main street carries them. It ha the kind of unsavory name of "Fallen Arches", but it's a pretty good place. Just on the north edge of town, heading out in the direction of Saranac Lake is a great bike shop, Placid Planet. I like them much more than the one right in the village, High Peaks Cyclery, which caters to a lot of interest other than cycling. Anyhow, let me know your LP itinerary! |

Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL So, no rides this weekend, but I engaged in the most intense hike of my life yesterday! Mark and I are up in Vermont for the long weekend with my family. We got in super late Friday night (2am), so we slept in yesterday morning. When we got up and decided to go hiking. Never one to do anything halfway, we took the Long Trail up from Smugglers Notch and summitted Mount Mansfield! It was a 4.5 hour hike, but we only covered 4.8 miles... It was basically straight up the side of the mountain. There was a lot of scrambling, and some legitimate climbing through rocks and crevices. A slight panic attack as we got almost to the top (did I mention that I'm scared of heights?) but Mark talked me through it and we made it up. Up for today? Haven't decided. Either visiting Montreal, or going kayaking. What do you think? |

Today is not as nice as yesterday.....but great for you and KAYAKING! ATB!!!!!!! Steve! I successfully avoided the border Even before I saw your post, I decided that I didn't really want to spend time in the car on such a lovely day - even though I haven't been to MTL in over two years and I would really really love to get back up there. So kayaking it was! Unfortunately, someone gave Mark and I the defective kayak (it was a two-person boat). It WOULD NOT go straight. Nothing we did helped. It was slightly ludicrous! So we probably went like 6x further than we needed to (zig-zagging across the river). Oh well! I did feel it in my arms when I swam this morning, though, haha... Other than that - things are GOOD. Am I excited about B2B? Well, I am excited if I think about it. But I'm trying not to think about it, because I want to rationally evaluate the possibility when the time comes, not psych myself into it I will admit, however, to printing out the maps of the bike and run courses and hanging them up near my desk at work Today was HOT! I swam this morning, then after work I got in a 45 minute ride and 15 minute run. I'm trying to follow Don Fink's Intermediate IM plan closely (did you know he lives in Morris County too? It says so on the back of the book! I hope I run into him someday). Even if I decide not to do B2B - it'll keep me in the 9-11 hour range for the next 8 or so weeks, which would put me in a great place for my fall HIM. Fall HIM is still undecided - though I'm really leaning towards the Half Full Tri. But, if I were to do B2B, Half Full might be a little too late (first weekend in Oct.) - maybe I'd want to stick to the September options... I will be racing this weekend! The Detroit Triathlon - an Oly I'm actually really excited to be racing in Michigan. The course seems un-inspiring: the bike course is actually 4 loops around Belle Isle - with the sprint doing 2 loops. The Women's Oly is the last wave, so I'll be out there doing loops with tons of people. I am really looking forward to my *first* Oly - I think it could be a great distance for me! It seems like it's more balanced between bike and run/swim than some of the other races I've done. Anyway, off to eat. Steve - you racing this weekend? Lisa - how's July going?!?! Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL JESS - I've been thinking about you in spades recently, due to: (1) B2B (2) Long Branch (3) NJ State As for B2B: Not only have I printed off everything on the current webiste, but just last night printed out the entire athlete's packet from last year. Moreover, shortly I will call around for a hotel that works with the very tricky logistics of the race. This does NOT mean that I am about to spring on the race (but if a hotel is open, i will make the res now)........but it is definoitely sticking in my mind. As for LB: I have written them twice about the address hassle - no answers. But I emailed USAT and I can use either Jane's address or the one for my USPS box in Rooseveltown, NY. I'm currently thinking of madcap weekends both on that one (Aug. 14/15) and the one before, so I'm not sure how it will shake down. But considering I was all set to register two weeks ago when I realized they wouldn't accept my CDN postal code.....maybe I should just register today! As for NY State: I saw that the oly was full and that there was a waiting list, so I emailed the RD to be included on it.....and was told within about three days that I could enter the race. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly! So, the ball is now in my court and I'm not sure what to do. I havce one great option up this way, but that won't work into the USAT points. Plus, the NJ weekend is the same as the start to Chamberfest, and also it is about 8 days before Lynn goes to Newfoundland for ten days, so I should maybe stick kinda local. But I'm still thinking!! I wish NJ was a guaranteed wetsuit swim, as I'd hate to drive all that way only to have a suckier-than-normal swim! Other thoughts: --- I'm having some trouble getting my head around Halfull. Maybe it's the not-quite-HIM swim, or maybe it's too much like Columbia, only reversed and longer. I'm still interested, just not real enthusiastic right now. --- Have you looked into Esprit in Montreal, on Sept. 11? (www.esprittriathlon.com) That's the one that's totally on the island, with all of the cycling on the Formula One race track. The times for any of the races -- sprint, oly, HIM, IM -- are incredibly fast, and people who do it love it to death. I've never done it, but am thinking about the oly or half-iron this year. However.... --- The following day I am registered for the Burlington Triathlon, an oly, on the course that will be used for USAT Nationals in '11 and '12. So, I can keep to this and keep it "pure".....or do it the day after Esprit oly.......or bag it and do Esprit half-iron. Just some more thoughts for you! -------------------------------------Tell me what all you know about NJ State, okay?------------------------------------ That's a funny story about your kayak with its own unique homing instincts! It kind of reminds me of when my stroke is off and I drift leftward on my swims, however. Have fun with Detroit Tri! I have considered that for a coup[le of years, but just haven't made it there. And doing those loops on Belle Island would get you nicley trained for the more extensive loops of Esprit! (At Esprit, there is a big board at one end that tells you how many loops you have done. I think.) I have a sneking suspicion you will love the oly distance; can't wait for your report! We (Yes! Lynn is coming along!! ) are off tomorrow for Musselman sprint on Saturday, where, lo and behold, there are about 16 in my age group. Cool beans! It is 750/16/3.1, and I'm looking to go all-out all the way. Should be fun! Keep in touch, and as I pleaded above, tell me what you know about NJ State! Merci! |

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL JESS again -- Well, I've done it -- booked two nights at the Hilton, which is closest to the B2B finish. The race rate is $133/night -- steepish, but I'm holding it until I can scope out other options. The logistics are pretty screwy, but tnat obviously doesn't stop the race from being considered the 5th best ironman in the world (according to Triathlete magazine). It might turn out that staying nearer the race start makes more sense, but I'm swayed by the aspect of just having to take one of the free water taxis across the river to get to my hotel, as opposed to having to hire an actual taxicab to get me to something farther-flung. Of course, if Lynn comes that would change things, but I'm not sure I can convince of her of the viability of this whole plan! |

Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL Steve - Come do NJ State! I'm really excited about this race: CGI obviously puts on great races, and this race is obviously really popular. There is a thread on here about the race, located here: http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=214351&start=1 Here are a few of the best comments on it: *I will also add that the course has a lot of energy. Lots of spectators, especially in the park. Lots of volunteers. Lots of fun. CGI puts on quite an event, and to have it in Mercer County Park is such a treat. I live almost adjacent to this park..its beautiful, clean, and well tended to. There is not a better (or bigger) event in the state.* *Yes....have fun. The water will be bathwater warm, the transition from water to T1 will seem steep, the bike to T2 will seem long, and the run will be flat, except for the first 1/4 mile. * *It's a fast course, the jog to/from bike area is looong ... great crowd support and a really well run event.* That said, I'm pretty sure it will not be wetsuit legal. It's been sooooooo hot here lately, and from what I've read, the lake is pretty shallow. But... that's ok! You'll rock it anyway, Steve! |

Expert 745 Bethesda, MD/Northern NJ | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL Turns out - we're not going to Michigan My grandpa had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and was told he needed to switch some medications... He wasn't feeling up to the trip, so we stayed back to keep an eye on him. I'm bummed about missing the family party and the Detroit Tri (especially since I had already registered!) Anyway, since I had today off either way, I took the day to do errands. I literally had to 1) switch title on the car, 2) register the car, 3) get a new license, 4) get the car inspected. I walked in the Motor Vehicle Center and told them I needed one of each form, haha... On my way home, I stopped at a local bike shop annnnnnd.... I have an order in for a 2011 Felt B16. I have been researching bikes for a while, and thinking about what will work best for me. I went in just to look at what they had in stock - and stock was really low. He only had Felts in 52 and 54. Obviously 54 is too big, so he tried me out on a 52... which turned out to be too big as well. So it looks like I'll be making the jump down to a 50. We talked about whether I wanted to get a 2010 - which he can order in and have within a week or so, or wait for the 2011, which should be in within a month. Since the next month was my original buying time-frame anyway, and the 2011 has an improved groupset for the same price (ultegra over 105) I figured I'd wait. That's a picture I found on the internet. I like the idea of a BLACK bike since I'm coming from a white one, and it gets dirty easy! The one thing about the 50 is that it has 650 wheels - which will be a change for me. I noticed that even the 52 I was trying today had a lower standover height than my Dolce - I guess the 650 wheel size will make it even easier to get up. Bike shop guy said that 650 will make it easier to get the aero-bars fitted right, since I have a pretty short torso - so with the smaller wheels the top tube can be shorter. It seemed to make sense to me. I'm going to keep my Dolce for group rides, because I don't think this lovely will be welcome at MAFW Anyway, moving on. I'm headed down the shore tomorrow for the weekend with Mark's family. Since I'm missing out on the Detroit Tri, I might try to do the Long Branch race on Sunday It's nice that those races are relatively cheap and easy to register for! GOOD LUCK TOMORROW STEVE! Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: stevebradley's Mentor Group FULL JESS - VERY sweet bike, Jess! FWIW, my bike shop carries only Cervelo and Felt, and are fully ready to stand by either of them at any time. And would the one you are thinking of have the chartreuse detailing? That is very eye-grabbing! I may have said this before, by my bike shop alos says that Ultegra is a great step up from 105, but that in most cases Dura-Ace is NOT worth trhe additional ~$500. But if you can get the Felt '11 with Ultegra, that sounds ideal. I have had Ultegra since '03 and have no complaints whatsoever. Keep us posted on your thoughts about this, okay? Too cool! Soory about Detroit, but Long Branch sounds like a fine option. I STILL haven't heard from them about registering using my not-quite -accurate address. The sillies! As for NJ State, it is still looking unlikely. I htink I have about three days to decide, and then I really ought to let the RD know so she can give the spot to someone else. i'm still highly tempted, though! I had maybe my all-time most complete race yesterday, and details will follow. But the short is 1/13 in a.g, a bike at 21.5mph (up from 20.9 in '08) and a run at 7:02/mile pace (up from 7:27 in '08). The biggest thing, maybe, is that my swim was tops in the a.g., and if I had been in M55-59, it would've been 2/18. I'm not quite sure what I did right, but I've just never had a swim that has placed so high. It was also about 208/868 overall, so for me to swim in the top quarter of a race is a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence! Plus, Lynn was there with me, so overall it was a nice little trip. (However, we got dinged at customs on the return. BAH!) And, jess, you've got to do either the sprint or thre half-iron, sometime....soon! It is the best race out there, for about 14 different reasons. (Maybe I will list them all for your future benefit.) G'night! |
