For all you Texans, had a pretty wild group of friends from Houston down here. We went out a few nights and partied hard last night. I forced myself to a 5k run to sweat the alcohol ;-)

I was wondering, how do you count jumping up and down all night? is that a zone 2 or 3? ;-)

You are better than I am! I would have slept in! Ha!

Us Texans are crazy. I always say... I would rather be called crazy, than boring! Ha! In fact, someone who hung out with our group... who didn't know me... but hung out with me after a night of drinking... called me crazy, and I took it as a compliment, of course!

I would say zone 2.

Had a good half mary on Saturday.

Last September I ran a half mary in 2:11- on a flat course, and that was a huge PR for me. Went from 2:28 to 2:11!

At my HIM in October I did a 2:14 half mary on a hilly course and in the heat. It was hard. Really hard.

End of December I PRed a flat half mary with a 2:07.

Yesterday I did a 2:10 half mary.... on a hilly course... but it wasn't hot. So I'll take that time. I think it shows improvement, since it was a hilly course and not a flat one.

Running is the only thing I've put any time or effort into:

Run:16h 20m 51s  - 65.78 Mi

My first Marathon is Sunday, so then it'll be all about the bike for my century in June.

Ah February Totals...

February's totals:
Bike: 3h 21m - 47 Mi
Run: 11h 09m 50s - 61 Mi
Strength: 2h 15m
Bike Trainer: 4h 45m
Elliptical Training: 10m
StairMill: 10m

The fact that I actually rode the bike for 7 hours (inside and out) was pretty darn good. School has been kicking my butt. At this point I'm just lucky to get my running in.

Ah, yeah, notice there isn't any swimming there. I will be paying for that decision this year!

I was contemplating tonight... what to do after March 28th. I need to get motivated to get back to TRI training. Ha! I think once I get school off my plate, I'll be more motivated.

Great job on all the amazing numbers group!!!!!! You are setting the example for me!

continuing to build and starting training for a half mary:

February's totals:
Bike:6h 27m 22s  - 95.93 Mi
Run:6h 56m 13s  - 31.65 Mi
Swim:4h 22m 06s  - 10050 Yd

I'm pleased with my consistency this month and eager to get more of my workouts off the drainer and dreadmill and helliptical and outside.  I'll happily wait a few more months to move the swim outside though!

I went back and uploaded the last few workouts. Luckily the numbers went up a bit :-)

Here are the real totals... with that one week off because of the back spasm...

S:  12696.00 M - 4h 24m 02s
B:  155.94 KM - 5h 42m 23s
R:  65.77 KM - 7h 40m 30s

We did a very cool 84km ride to the ruins of Tulum and back and then did a 5k run brick. I was very happy with how it went This is my second longest ride and was able to keep a decent pace and go out running afterward.

Have a good rest of the week!!! :-)

Great job everyone!

I think I might sign up for a tri... that way I'll actually SWIM. Ha! It would be on 4-25-10.

Also interviewing for a new job. We will see if anything comes of it. Not sure something will. It will require 3 days a week travel, that I am fine with.

Hey everyone, I'm still here! Sorry I haven't been posting, but I'm still taking it easy.  I spoke with my friend who is a physical therapist and she gave me some stretches to do.  I've had a crazy few weeks so next week I'm going to dedicate myself to swimming and getting back into walking/running on the treadmill and see how I do.

Being injured sucks and now I'm out of my routine so it makes it harder to start back up.  I remain confident that I'll be able to recouperate and still race this summer.  So, not much else is going on, just doing a lot of foam rolling and stretching.  I got a promotion at work so that is exciting!!

have a great weekend everyone!

Erin,

Sucks being injured, but congrats on the promotion.

Does anyone have a friend in Miami?!?!? I am going to the Miami International Triathlon and the person that was organizing the bike rental for the race messed up, so I am bike-less :-( Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need a size 58 or so...

Great beginning of the week for all :-)

Congratulations on the promotion!

Injuries do suck... but there is always getting really good and fast in the pool! Focus on what you can do to stay positive through the healing.

Well I signed up for my first tri this year... it is happening 4-25-10. So I decided to finally swim again today. Speed is still there, endurance it not. It's only a 300 meter swim though, so I am not stressing about it.

Hope everyone is doing well... although is seems like few people are checking our little thread anymore.

We definitively need to get a more active. My real training will begin in a few weeks. After Miami I have a long swim (Cancun to Isla Mujeres) in May and then its off to the races for IM Cozumel. ;-)
