Rbox3r - 2012-11-03 10:33 AM My streak will end Wednesday at 0400hrs with 134 days. This will end an hour and a half before I walk into the hospital to have a torn meniscus repaired. My dr is a runner and thankfully understands my obsession. If rehab goes according to plan I'll be running the Fayetteville Half in December (fingers crossed) Great job to all of those who streaked!

Awesome streak - congrats!  Wishing you a speedy recovery.

#34. I'd planned to go back to six runs a week, but I keep saying "I'll take off the day after tomorrow." Stupid habits. I'm admiring the dedication of you people battling hurricanes, injuries, and real hardships to get out there and pound the ground. If I had a reason half as good as those, I'd bail on this streak in a heartbeat. Kudos, bumps, and hugs all around.

#55.....a 3.2 mile run.  #54, yesterday, was interesting.  I ran 2.5 and averaged 8:15....not fast, as far as where I've been, but a step up coming back from PF.

I ran with my 12 year old daughter on a track.

She was running 6:40's and as she ran by she tapped my arm and said, "lapped you old man".  Laughing

Totally awesome.  Something tells me she was running as fast as she could with the sole intent of "lapping" dad.

That's great! How is the foot coming along?

ETA: Oh, and 12 miles this morning. Felt sluggish, but almost all splits were under 8. Put in a 3 mile tempo in the low 6's. Wanted more, but left quad was getting tired fast. That was making my knee work funny. Frequency and mileage are my priorities, so backed it off and just ran the rest easy.

The foot's coming along well....I have learned that it's constant maintenance.  I run, then I immediately put on shoes with heel pads/orthotics of some kind.  I can tell that my calf/PF is still a bit tight, but it gets better every week.  Running every day really helps keep me in tune with what is happening with my foot/legs.

#56 today was 5.5 miles with my oldest daughter....her first run since Marine Corps Marathon. Great time!

Thanks to you and Muskrat for the good words.....running/swimming/biking with my kids is the greatest joy of my life.

Two weeks down (day 14), just about half way and feeling good.  7.7 mi today, progression run, pushed it on the way back, really just to keep warm.  Time to break out the winter gear, 40 deg today, and a bit nippy.

I was excited about joining this group!   Completed run #6 yesterday and then WHAM, injured my leg (calf) at the half way point on my 8 mile run.  I'm bummed about the injury but more bummed that I can't run today.  I did notice in the short time ( 6 runs) that I was feeling better and better on each run.  Thanks for starting this, I'll be back when I feel better.

21*

* I have to change the rules I've been playing with, since I literally started my run tonight at 11:58 p.m.  I previously required the run to start by 11:40 to count on the day it was started, since that way I hit the 20 minute minimum on the day the run started.  I'm now content to count the run on the day it started, even if it's 11:59:59.9 p.m.

I was also only going to run the minimum 20 minutes tonight, but was feeling good once I got going so I went for a 30 minute 5k.

Hey......wait a minute....Muskrat and I reserve the right to make the rules.

Since Muskrat is off eating donuts and drinking milkshakes it falls to me........

I rule you can make your own rules. Laughing

Nice work!  21 it is!

Thanks, guys.  Now I can stay in this thread

(As an aside, I was looking at my Garmin logs and realized that I should either change my sign-in to "midnight_runner" or move to the West Coast time zone so that my running would typically be in the early to middle evening instead of after I should have been in bed.)

I'm eating all the donuts at work.

10 miles w/hill intervals on the treadmill this morning. Get the right music and it's not that bad.
