I'm back !

My dw got back from Chicago late last night and by the time we got caught up it was about 1am and I had to get up at 5am for work.

So I finally got to train today and I actually ran. Got 6 miles done at lunchtime while at work. It was hot and humid out there but I didn't care. Once I got out there I really enjoyed the run. It was not too fast, but I got it done.

Man I feel good now

yes, it was a BT'r - Christine, aka Lucy

I didn't know her but I wish I had - it was quite sudden and literally happened in a matter of days

there is a thread about it in CoJ

sad, very sad

Another 3.07 miles down.  The time was 22min 41secs.  It was a good run, and my legs felt really good even though I haven't really given them a break since the 4th.  Hopefully they will continue to feel this way through my longer run this weekend.

Wow. That's all I can say...wow. You just never know what tomorrow will bring, huh? It's one of those lessons we never seem to learn, though.

I will be running a 10K (instead of a 5K) in memory of Christine tomorrow.

Ran a 10K this morning in memory of Christine. I was so wiped out yesterday that I thought I was coming down with something but I guess all the sun just put me down for a day. Anyway, the first part of my run was very slow but I picked up the pace mid way through and ended up with an even 10 min/mile for the entire run. I've gotta tell you guys - the extra weight I have dropped has really done wonders for my pace. Of course, I'm so used to running/training for marathons that I haven't really known my shorter distance pace for a long time and I've gotten used to 11 min/mile + paces. I'm really loving the 10 min/mile pace!

Congrats Tracy....great job on the run and the weight loss....You look fabulous! keep up the hard work...and nice job on running for Christine! I sat up and cried for her as I read almost all her blog! from May to present....strange symptoms and crazy how quickly it took her life! how sad for her family!

Um, good question. I suppose it's a skirt that you run in?

Hold on. I knew there was a reason they invented Google.

Here we go..... Nike Personal Best Running Skirt for Women. Originally $60, on sale at REI for $44.83.

I had a blast today - 10 miles on & off the beach (with a little "pit stop" thanks to the seafood buffet I had last night) and then I volunteered to hand out gatorade at the Du that I really wanted to race this year but couldn't because of other family members who will remain unnamed! Of course, in all honestly, I really wasn't prepared to swim with the jellyfish today!
