I am putting an aerobar setup on my bike (it has drop downs with clip ons right now) but on thursday the new aerobar comes and I will not have to sit there looking at the dura ace bar end shifters and the bar end break leavers any longer |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Okay, Dee. I might need a 9am wake-up zap with the cattle prod to get me up and to the pool in the morning. I just remembered that I'll be stuck at work until 1am tonight and suddenly the pool is sounding like a special sort of wednesday morning torture. But then again the cattle prod sounds like torture too. Hmmmm....conundrum. What's worse? The pool or the prod? |

Don't get too trigger happy with the cattle prod yet, I'll get back into shape tomorrow, I promise -- either a bike or a run, but I'll be logging something. Tap tap tap tap tap..... That's the sound of me waiting, cattle prod in hand.... So. Didja work out today? (I *so* want to zap someone.) |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Slugger - 2008-09-02 5:08 AM Okay, I'll fess up, but first I ask you to please be gentle. I hurt. A lot. But I didn't train. I went backpacking this weekend for the first time in far too many years. It was gloriously wonderful (except for some parts), and I loved it. But I ended up, through a convoluted mess of events, carrying almost 60 pounds. And hiking with an idiot who was far slower than the 4-year-old. So a three hour easy hike in took five hours. With 60 pounds on my back (and, more importantly, on my still-recovering feet). Then I got up the next morning, shouldered the pack, summited, and headed off downhill. I left the rest of the gang at the top so I could make it down in time to sleep. See, I work night shift, so I had to get to bed. I was less than half a mile from home, hurtin' like a demon, eager for my toothbrush, a shower, and my bed (that order), when my cell went off. My best friend, whom I had left at the summit with her 8 yo daughter and the idiot, twisted her ankle badly. I'm on SAR and know wilderness first aid, so I grabbed my SAR gear (insanely reduced to lighten the load as much as possible), almost cried looking at my toothbrush and shower, and headed out. Got up to her, got her down off the mountain (she was almost there, the woman is made out of steel), then had to get her dog and daughter safely to her parents' house and her to the ER. Oh yeah, remember how I work nights? Yeah, I had to be to work early. I went straight from the ER to work. On zero sleep. After backpacking. So I will present myself for appropriate punishment, but please be gentle because I hurt all over. If it is any consolation, I've already done two pushup sessions this morning, and it just turned 5 am. *sigh* I would *like* to use the prod on you. But I can't. Hm. Can I use it on the "idiot" instead? |

They are still just the teensiest bit tender, but they don't hurt! I am taking the morning off of any real activity and am going to go for the first of my new running plan that involves going all the way back to the start of a couch-to-10K program and rebuilding sloooowly. YAY!!! Time for more pushups. Whee! Edited to say the TENDONS don't hurt. The bottoms hurt like evil demons that got crushed under 60 pounds for two days over crazy rocky terrain that mauled them to a pulp. But the tendons, that I have been nursing for three weeks, don't hurt. Much. Wow, who needs a cattle prod? You're already good at zapping yourself. |

I hope it is enough to avoid "motivational" conversations. Yeah. You're good. For today. Tomorrow is another story. Maybe I can zap you then? |

I also did a little ST... so it seems I don't have to torture myself. Yet.
