I just finished lunch.  Brocolli and asparagus sauteed with olive oil, garlic and crushed red pepper.  Tossed with whole wheat pasta and feta.  Left over from last night.  Yum.  (Sorry about all the green stuff Ann.)

Just think how cool it would be if you could go downstairs and swim anytime you felt like it.  Year round.

If/when I have a decent home someday, this is VERY high on my to-do list. These pools are sweet!

Tom, I'm there with you but do you live next to the coolest pool in the world.  How far is it for you to get to the beach?

From my office, about 15 minutes to a swimmable beach. From home, 45 minutes. I need a wetsuit and a LOT more training before I can start doing OWS though. The sea-water here is still below 60.

Yep, that is wetsuit legal.  Is your first tri an ocean swim?

Open water, but in a bay. Unless the wind is crazy there won't be any waves to speak of except the ones caused by the swimmers. Water temp on race day should be about 65, so if I don't have a suit by then I'll be renting one. I'm hoping to get one soon though, because my LBS does OWS workshops a couple times per week starting at the end of this month.

Bay is good.  I'm not a great swimmer and ocean swims add all kinds of challenges.  First one I did in a race I got hammered just trying to get through the wave line.  Waves were 4-5ft and it was brutal.  I much prefer bay swims.  Definitely get out with your lbs workshops!!!

ironannekidd - 2010-03-08 12:48 PM Hey Kim, what's your race schedule look like this year?

Here's what I've signed up for.  What I actually do is open to debate.  I usually throw in a bunch of NYRR races in Central Park on open weekends.

St Patty's day 5k - March 14th
Unite HM - April 18th
Superhero HM - May 16th
Nothing yet in June - but have a couple to tri's to choose from
July 11th - Nantucket Sprint - Girls Getaway Weekend
July 25 - NJ State Olympic.
Hopefully NYC Marathon in November

Still lots of room to find things to entertain me.
