Okay, I didn't make it to 50% this week, but am up at 44%.  considering I went from 15% to 44%, I have faith that I will get my 14 hours in before the month is out.

How did everyone do with races this weekend?  Julie - mountain bike, Lynne - st paddy dash?  Anyone else?

Looks like you are doing great!

Thanks. I really am impressed at how much riding you and 4everblue do. Wish I had that much time to dedicate to it and wish i had that scenery to ride around it. Absolutely beautiful. I have been wanting to do a bike ride in Scotland, Ireland or England for a couple of years now. Maybe I'll plan one for 2009.

kns57 - 2008-03-18 3:29 PM Good morning or afternoon depending on what part of the world you are in at the moment. Another beautiful day here in GA and another day at work. I really am hoping that Sunday will be a georgeous day. Frank and I are planning a long ride on the Silver Comet trail. We have to drive about an hour from our house (no traffic or it is longer) and then ride the trail. It is an old converted rail line. They have finally approved construction to pave the last two miles. Then the trail will go all the way to the Alabama line and connect with a trail in Alabama. I can see a future weekend ride where we ride in one direction, spend the night, and then ride back to our vehicle.
Sounds great. Fingers crossed for good weather. Taking a camera? Hope so.

yay julies back!!
i went running, and i've decided what i need is a really great runner to go running with me just once, to help me with my biomechanics. i have SO much more endurance when i focus on form, but i'm WAY to easily distracted!! (like that's a surprise to anyone here!!)
i didn't take any pics today, but i SHOULD have, it's freakin beautiful out!! i'm planning on having me a good long ride tomorrow, without worrying about time, or mileage really, just going to hit a dirt road i know of, and going exploring a bit. maybe i'll try to take the camera with me for THAT. hope the weather is as nice tomorrow as it is today!

oh yeah, and julie, that fella in the pic is the fella i married!! LOL i know in that pic he looks like a greasy car sales man, and i look like jail bait, but hey, we made it to our 10th so i think we're good!! LOL

Found a scanner. It was 21 years ago, today. If anyone says I look like a young Drew Barrymore...... I've got stubble like Sawyer from Lost though.

Pity about the bloke swimming in the background. Suppose I could airbrush him out nowadays.

Please, please promise not to laugh.

Good job Lynne....thanks for the welcome back....want you to be the first to know that there is no frickin way I went 63 MPH in that race LOL......I would not attempt that speed on a paved road either....I think the max I have ever hit was right at 50 and that was in my prime on a paved road on my mtn bike and I about poo'd my pants when I was done....so everyone that reads my race report realize that is a BIG NO WAY! not sure what I did to make it calculate that!? I will go back when i get a chance to edit but mean while....no that I may be a little speedy...but would have had to free fall to hit that speed! happy to say that I did not free fall...and that I am still in one piece for my first triathlon that I will be racing next month!!

ScotinSeattle - 2008-03-18 3:02 PM What was your top speed?

For the LOVE OF MARSHMALLOWS IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT 63MPH!!! more like negative 5 mph as I fell backwards!!! seriously, not sure....because I did not look at my max speed...I was just happy to be at the bottom and in one piece!!! hehe so,...I paid no attention...but in a few of the downhill areas I could see going maybe 20+mph which would come to a screeching stop and turn into a snails pace when I would see the triple arrows pointing down on any of the signs next to the trail...triple arrows pointing down is a sign for DANGER and STEEP TERRAIN...and since I did not know one of the runs, I would see these signs and would basically crawl through that area...barely rolling over things...that is not real smart either...it is much easier to just let go and roll over things...the more you break the more you feel every pebble you roll over...but I am not as fearless as I used to be...so breaks were used a lot!!!!...

so for max speed...no more then 20mph and that would have only been in the nice straight open jeep roads and maybe the first drop where we start from....but in some places I was going very slow! I was askeeeeeard!
