lyssa-gator - 2008-07-19 8:47 PM it's a monumental day for me!!! there's a HUGE hill in my neighborhood, and i've always called it "The B*tch" i have never made it up this hill without walking. i've been running for almost 14 months, and i have never made it up this hill UNTIL TODAY!!!!! oh i so totally rocked that hill!!! she's MINE now!!!
YOU ROCK!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!

X2.  It's great that you are now able to finish the hill, it will make you a stronger runner.

Now if you will excuse me I need to go and get a 8 mile run in.  I have already put it off way to long today, and will not beable to do it tomorrow since the dw has an olympic tri in Boulder CO to do.  I am her cheering squade, should be lots of fun.

Ok, so eight more down.  It took 75min.  Started really slow, but felt as if I could have ran a few more towards the end, which is always good.

Nice job today Lyssa. Just be careful not to over exert yourself though and make yourself more sick!

No run again for me today. My back is just bothering me too much. Probably from all the standing I did this weekend.  Am going to get up early tomorrow and do a short run/swim before work so I can come home and REST! I am buggered from this weekend.

is there?? probably. seems like there's one there almost every weekend all summer long! LOL
am thinking i might give the labor day tri there in elma another go 'round. it was my first one last year. don't know yet, think i'll wait and see how danskin goes.
the RD for those elma ones is super cool, but seems like he always has the same 5 or 6 voulenteers, i have no idea if he ever uses anyone else, i'll have to email him or something.

You should email him.  Tell him you've done some of the races etc, loved it and want to help out. He might even let you do the Labour Day one for FREE! There are some races here that do that! Volunteer for once, race one for free. I got a cool shirt from Seafair today!

It doesn't happen very often and the races I saw for free were 5K's. But still. It's a good thing to do.

all right all right, i'm up already!!! holy smacks!! dh left @ 445 and totally woke me up. i FINALLY managed to get back in to blissfull sleep, and the baby started up. then when i REALLY REALLY got back to sleep after that, dd is just up for the day now. she got up @ 630. i'm more of an 830-900am kind of gal. LOL
AND since dh is gone, i am not going out running this morning. HOWEVER, i AM going to try to go in to town, so i can drop my kids off @ my mom's and according the the new training schedule i got off runnersworld.com that i am going to try, i have a tempo run this morning. 5 miles 3 of which are supposed to be fast. so i'm thinking i'll head to the track. which is a huge pain in the rear, but whatever.

Don't forget to actually use the first and last miles as easy pace, to warm up and cool down.  Even if you feel good, it will be better for you in the future.  And please don't do like I do and forget to stretch.  It is the most important.

yeah, the plan says that. a mile to warm up, 3 miles fast, then a mile to cool down. i might chop the first and last miles to just halves, since it'll be super hot out by then, but we'll see how it goes.
at least i don't have a fever today!! LOL

LMAO!!! i got on my bathroom scale just now!!! ROTFLMAO!!!! i think it MIGHT be time for a new one!!!
if i stand on ONE foot, i'm 135, but if i stand on BOTH feet, i'm 140!! i can handle standing on one foot for the rest of my life, that's ok with me!! LMAO!!!
ok ok ok, i'll go get a new one. maybe i'll even get a digital one this time, so i can see what's what!!
i AM wearing a 4 now though, so i guess that says more than the actual numbers on the scale anyway.
just thought it was amusing.

LOL that chick can RUN!! she ran a mile and a half (only stopping once, for about 45 seconds) in 14 minutes!!! i don't even think *I* can run it that fast!! LOL.
