Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: The Justice League of BT Sulcus' Summary of the Thread Up to this point: Wonder what you missed in the previous 32 pages? Don't feel like sifting through it all? Well, my boss pissed me off so I am not doing any work for the afternoon and have decided to give us the Reader's Digest version:
2. A bunch of people not on the team posted. 3. A posting free-for-all ensued with many inside or corny jokes... 4. Some more greetings and chatting by old challenge friends and teammates... 5. Dee comes to Beth’s rescue and offers to do the table before either her head or the internet will explode, which might come first could not be determined at that time… 6. Torben did not want to be affiliated with the American Justice League so we went rogue and became the Justice League of BT 7. Torben told us he is leaving for a long weekend of running, biking and debauchery in Germany... 8. Phil gave two of us mini-challenges to reach 500 posts by the end of the month and someone else was asked to hit 2000… 9. Kristin hasn’t been getting lots of sleep and has a half Marathon this weekend. She also has a tendency to oversleep when she does sleep… |

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: The Justice League of BT 10. Bewbs were discussed in a manner that was about on par with a Jr. High sex ed class so don’t get too excited 11. From time to time, Phil got bored and padded his postcount shared many fascinating things with himself, one line per post at a time. 12. Phil got bored again and made jokes that amused him so much that he had to post a reply to each one, 13. Phil decided to bless us with his singing prowess, from Skid Row to John Denver, one line per post at a time. 14. Vincent let us know he was at Epcot and it now will only be around sketchily since he has to register for classes, deal with internet issues, and go on a road trip to Florence, Alabama to visit with Meghan's and his adopted parents. 15. Phil chastised him for actually using a paragraph and not breaking everything into one line posts. He then showed him the “proper” way of posting such a message, one line per post at a time. 16. Helen then got bored while on the night shift and proceeded to entertain herself by posting until we logged in this morning.
17. Helen signed off so she could watch her kids kick some other kids’ and promised to get in the pool when she returns on Sunday.
18. Shawn attempted a semi-humorous summary of what has happened so he didn't have to keep going back through all of the exceptionally helpful messages in the previous 32 pages. |

Hi Helen! Nice to meet you. Get the socks, they rock!
Yep. I wear the sleeves for running because I have alternate sock preferences, then wear the recovery socks after and sometimes the night before. I have full tights too. All 2XU. My legs felt like hamburger too but not anymore. I love compression. I packed all of it for my HIM this weekend!

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: The Justice League of BT Introductions that a few of us posted: mynextthirtyyears - 2009-03-31 9:06 PM This is going to be absolutely amazing!! I'm so excited and this is my first team challenge, so please help me out as much as possible and tell me what I need to do. thanks in advance. My name is Vincent and from the Tampa Bay Area!! We will rock everyone so no worries there!!! I'm going to love this and this makes training even more fun!! Woohooooooooooooo! I wake up, go to work, teams are up Yuhooooo, then spend first hour at work going over the team threat now up to 11 pages !!!! 11 I am Torben and I am in for 230km of running this month. I really wanted to make this a biking month, as I am still on the trainer do to all the white stuff outside but I really need to improve my running so I will be going for my biggest running month ever. The race season starts here at the end of the month and I really want to do well and get a new 5k PB. I might also run a 1/2 Mary at the end of the month, but I am not sure since I have a lot of races in the beginning of May, ut if the form is there I wil do it Is it wrong that I am almost surprised this thread isn't 22 pages long after what I found this morning? Catching up with it not only used up all my "get to work early so I can get things done" time but sent me scurrying for a super hero appropriate icon to use (which I'll change after I post this). Last but not least, I promise I’ll try and hold on for dear life while I ride along with your breakneck posting speeds. I also need to designate my super power for the month. I work with a coach and don't get a schedule until this weekend so I can see what he has planned for me then! I"m guessing I'll have a swim focus. Beth then asked us all to introduce ourselves a little more fully: as noted by a couple of teammates, we haven't introduced ourselves I'm Beth, aka Lastcall2003, aka Tinkerbeth I did my first triathlon in my mid 40s and have now completed 2 Olys and 4 Sprints. My first love is swimming, followed closely by biking, and let’s just say I’m learning to love to run. I'm training for another 1/2 Mary at the end of May - if the stars align, i will be doing the brooklyn 1/2 mary - if they move the date - well we'll see what happens
wgraves7582 - 2009-04-02 6:58 AM Well 5 pages later here is my intro: My name is Bill. Live in Western New York. I have done 1 Xterra Triathalon (Olympic Distance), 1 marathon, 1 ultra marathon, 1 adventure race, and little races around the area. This May I am doing a Endurance Bike Race in Iowa so a lot of my training is bike right now (which I love the most anyways!), then I won a lottery into Mt Washington Running Race so I now love running hills and lots of them. I just love to challenge my body if it is weight lifting, running, riding, swimming (which is a challenge at any length), 2 of the 3, or all 3 of them. I don't limit myself to any type of race and will enter anything that will cause me severe pain and endless 4:00am training sessionsI am traveling until tomorrow so I will need another update tomorrow morning when I get back into the office. Then I can delve into the 40 or so pages that I am sure I will have missed since the start! Have a great day!
aquagirl - 2009-04-02 8:46 AM OK....thought I would give you all my wee story: This will be my third season of tris. Last year my A- race was an Oly that went pretty well. I have also done a couple of half marys . I am doing my first HIM this summer, Timberman. My first love is actually cycling. I love it to distraction and if I knew my body could handle it I would ride for hours each day....except of course then my family would be starving to death and walking around in smelly underwear!! So I try to keep it under control. I also LOVE to run, and have been doing so for not quite 2 years. Hope to tackle a marathon soon.Which leaves swimming.......ICK! I am actually a capable swimmer. I can swim for long periods, and LOVE to be way way out in the middle of a lake. Problem is I have zero speed. Thus my challenge goal is to swim for at least 15 hours this month......I am not counting laps or doing intervals, my awesome swim coach wants me to focus ONLY on keeping my stroke count low, so thats what I will do. But it does not mean I have to LIKE it!!!Oh, and when I am not cycling or washing smelly underwear I work as a neonatal nurse on the 12 hour night shift.........

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: The Justice League of BT Amidst his boredom, Phil posed us all a few questions he wanted to know: 1stTimeTri - 2009-04-02 1:03 PM WHAT .... Is your favorite color? Are you looking to get out of this challenge? Is your favorite musical group? Are you looking at?
1stTimeTri - 2009-04-02 1:07 PM I'll start - WHAT ....Is your favorite color? I don't have one particular one - blue and red. Are you looking to get out of this challenge? More post padding. Is your favorite musical group? Motorhead in the genre of Metal, Rob Thomas in the genre of "Pop", Neil Diamond in the genre "soft rock", and Garth Brooks and Johnny Cash in the genres "Country" AND "Western" Are you looking at? - this stupid monitor
aquagirl - 2009-04-02 1:15 PM Lime green A stroke count of 15Nirvana My awesome tuna sandwich.......it has shallots in it....its delicious........cause you cannot live on wine gums alone.......
Sulcus - 2009-04-02 1:35 PM Ummm...purple (I went to both a High School and College with that color. It grows on you!) Initially, I was looking to up my time on the bike so I have an outside shot of actually completing my sprint tri at the end of May but, after just one day of the insanity, I think I'm looking to get to know you all better and maybe gain a few mentors. (no pressure!)It really depends on my mood - Over the past year, I've had obessesions with Guns & Roses, power ballads, Mika, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban and the Killers. My boss's assistant playing with the heating blowers - we just moved to an open office setup so I can see alot of people.

I should have made Beth write it, so I could sit here and watch the thread blow up. I like watching Beth blow up threads with her html skills. |
