Congrats on the pace. That's AWESOME!! Unfortunatly I missed my run yesterday. I think I needed the break, but I hate missing my planned runs. Just means I can't miss any more this week. |

Elite 3494 Renton, Washington | Subject: RE: CASUAL run challenge--july It's better than the 13-14 I'm used to do. Another benefit from NOT smoking anymore Oh yay. No run today, my back is just totally killing me. I am wondering if it's from sighting so much! All that looking up, you know? I am nowhere near my goal but that's ok! I just hope that now MAYBE I can finally run a bit further without wanting to throw up..hehehehe.
Happy Trails everyone |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: CASUAL run challenge--july so on my new training plan thing to run the half marathon in november, today is supposed to be a rest or cross training day. thing is, i'd really rather be running. so here's the question. should i take a short "restful" run? or should i suck it up and get on my bike? tomorrow is supposed to be another rest or cross train day (this plan is kind of odd. only has me running 3 days a week!! i'm just TOTALLY not used to that!!) so maybe since tomorrow is another rest day, i'll take a short restful run today, and get on my bike tomorrow (oh the new one CAN'T get here soon enough!!) |

Expert 642 | Subject: RE: CASUAL run challenge--july Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been online lately - life has gotten in the way. I can't believe I haven't worked out in three days. Sunday I was traveling back all day, Monday I took my son to "Apple camp" (more on that later) and got home exhausted because I walked around the mall for hours - ditto today and ditto again for tomorrow. Anyway, my "Aunt" decided to visit so I'm not feeling too hot either. Hopefully I'll be able to get out and put some running miles in. This weekend is going to be great. On Saturday I'm going on a preview ride/run with Team Luna Chix here in DC for my sprint on Aug 25th - Iron Girl, Columbia, MD. I'm going to have a girl's night out with some friends the night before so it'll be interesting to see how I do on Saturday! Story about Apple Camp...I had heard about this last year from a friend - Apple (the computer company) has these day camps for kids ages (approx) 6-12 where they make their own music, their own videos and their own photo projects. My son is totally into all three of those things so I thought it would be totally cool for him to go to this FREE camp. Well, he is totally diggin' it and not only do they create these projects but they can bring them home and upload them to blogs, etc. They also got a totally rockin' T-shirt out of the deal. Anyway, the funniest part of the story is when we were coming home yesterday my son said "Mom, when you said "Apple Camp" I thought we were going somewhere to pick apples all day off trees." I laughed and said "Well, were you pleasantly surprised?" His eyes got really huge and he said "OH...TOTALLY SURPRISED." (Ok...so, I guess you had to be there to see his face & eyes but it was just a cute moment!). |

You mean people actually have a training plan?? I just go run and bike till my body says it is time to stop. If I do not run then my body punishes me by giving me a huge case of the blahhhs!! I really hate that so I then punish my body for giving me the blahhhs by running in the 110 degree heat -- Sort of a vicious circle But seriously Do what your body tells you that you need to do and do not get too hung up on the plan or the distance -- but most of all remember that we do this thing because it is FUN!!!!!!! |

You are right about the how much Starbucks charges; I guess the masses have figured it out and that is why they are closing 600 stores. |

X2. The plan is only a guidline. Though it helps you get where you want to go, there are many roads to chose from that will get you in the same place. I use my plan as a minimum not a maximum. On the occasion that I might miss a run (like yesterday), I try to make it up elsewhere. |

Don't you know that it's because of the cost of gas and food. There is no way starbucks over charges. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: CASUAL run challenge--july bailey's--i drink it straight. although i DO like it in coffee--other thing is it's SO good frozen, because of the alcohol it doesn't freeze solid, it makes like a slushie. oh so good. starbucks--overcharges, but i DON'T CARE!!! i LOVE it too much training plan--first time i've tried one, and pretty much i'm using it as a guideline, since i've always just done whatever before, i figured that if i really DO want to run that half marathon in november, that i'd better maybe get a little more serious. i DO have bailey's in the fridge, but tonight might be a red wine kind of night. it's actually raspberry wine that my parent's brought me back from california a few months ago, i haven't even opened it. maybe tonight though. |
