Reading a book called "The Eight". Its pretty good. It has something to do with chess...and math...and conspiracy stuff...and Catherine the Great...and Charlemagne...ya.. That was a good book. Just don't question the reality of it. I enjoyed it. She has another one that I read that is pretty good, too. But not as fun and the Eight. Ya...I definately sat there last night pretending that they didn't just randomly come to the conclusions that they came to. I'm only about 1/4 through the book. This happened with the Davinci Code for me too...me sitting there thinking "ya, right. People are totally going to figure that code/puzzle out"...Reality  Wait for the car ride through the desert! It is entertainment anyway. Haha. I'm excited now! Let's go to Algeria! |

I am embarrassed for the Mormon church being so openly involved in this. All of that comes right back on Utah, and Salt Lake in particular, in the media.  . Plus, what happened to separation of church and state? I don't think it does anything to the sanctity of marriage to let them marry each other if they want. Yes, Marriage is between a man and woman. But why can't a civil union (like a "marriage" not performed by a church leader) be okay for them? Geesh. I have to say though, that there are several citied here in the Salt Lake Valley that have taken steps to assure equal rights in housing and jobs for gay people, and at least one has even gone so far as to make partner benefits available to their employees. That one also covers any dependent members of the household. It could be 2 siblings who never married, or an elderly mother living with her daughter. Doesn't matter, so long as they are dependent upon each other financially and otherwise. Cool, huh? |

Even chocoholics have to take a break from chocolate every now and then. Gasp!!! It's sad, but it's true.  I'm a chocoholic, but I have to temper my cravings because after chemo, chocolate gives me really bad heartburn. bummer. If it is good chocolate taken in small quantities I'm usually okay though.
