D001 - 2007-11-05 4:20 PM OK, I'm revising my goals. I'll slack off on the walk/run/jog unless I set a goal..... 120 miles bike 11 swim sessions (600 yd swim, 300 yd kick minimums per session) 14 shoulder strength sessions 8 walk/jog/run sessions And yes, I'll update the spreadsheet. LOL

wow you are keen! had enough of spreadsheets yet?

Gah, yes!

And everytime I upload it to Google, someone joins the challenge, or revises their goals.

Oh wait. I just revised my goal too. Nevermind then....

Actually, the spreadsheets are fine. I don't mind them. And based upon what I've learned, it'll help the next.... um.... next? Am I really talking about a "next" challenge??????????????/

Someone please confine me to a padded room, and hurry! I've lost my mind!

After that, Lyssa..... oh wait. She's here. I'll suggest her some other time....

Nccgrap (Ryan) suggested a points based one. It sounded pretty cool. The idea is to achieve an equal number of points in running, swimming and biking. Overall, people seemed to think it would work well in the Spring.

If you do Oct Run, July TdF, Dec Swim.... you'll have run a Tri Challenge! LOL

The TdF one looked pretty cool. It happened before I joined BT.

I know... I looked at my schedule after I posted that it *sigh* not IM today. I did already bike a messed up 30 mins. I was interrupted way too many times for it to actually be a good ride. My kids were involved in some sort of spray painting of the apartment complex. From what I'm gathering, they were bystanders, but my neighbors got kinda bitchy at me for believing my kids over the adults that actually did not witness anything. One of the neighbors kid's name was spray painted on the wall, which leads me to believe that my kids are not lieing. They are 6 and 8 for pete's sake... if they were the ones spray painting, I'm sure that they would have put their OWN names on the wall. So, what I'm saying is that the story adds up to me believing my kids and the neighbors think I'm an idiot for believing my kids.

So, all that aside, I'm angry that my kids got themselves into that situation and I'm angry that I'm not allowed to believe my kids without looking like a horrible person and I'm angry that all this happened while I was trying to ride my bike. I'm going to retry this workout while the Amazing race is on.

Believe the kids.

When I was about 9, two friends asked me to go to a candy shop with them. I said I didn't have any money. They said it didn't matter.... So we went. I looked at the candy, but obviously didn't buy anything....

On the walk back home, they pulled candy out of their pockets, and offered it to me. I asked how they got it, but they just shrugged. (I don't remember what they said, but it didn't leave me feeling suspicious. So I may have thought they'd had money with them.)

The minute I got in the door of my house, my parents had a "chat" with me. It seems a neighbor had seen the 2 others stealing candy and called ALL of our parents. I said something like, "I didn't take anything. I didn't know they'd do that."

My parents believed me. And they never mentioned the incident again. After that, I was still friendly with the other two girls. But far less so. And I never went anywhere with them again....

It's been a long time since I was 9. But I still remember that story....

As I said, believe your kids.

Thanks for that story. I basically told my kids that they were guilty by association and that the best thing for them to do when they see someone doing something wrong (which they obviously knew that this other kid was spray painting) was to just leave the area. So they didn't get in trouble with me, just taught the appropriate way to deal with someone else doing something wrong.

Put me down for 6 more miles. Nice easy run in the evening cool air. My neighbors that I was nuts running around the block four times (1.5 round trip). It was funny after the third time when they started having a little cheering section while the boys kept telling me to stop and drink a beer. Cold beer what a temptation that was, but I finished. Now it's time for a sandwich and then pass out.

How funny! I had some neighbor kids do that to me once when I first started running. I couldn't even go a mile, so I just ran the sidewalks around my apartment complex a few times. The neighbor kids were counting the laps for me and were disappointed when I stopped!

wemoon - 2007-11-05 6:00 AM Thanks for that story. I basically told my kids that they were guilty by association and that the best thing for them to do when they see someone doing something wrong (which they obviously knew that this other kid was spray painting) was to just leave the area. So they didn't get in trouble with me, just taught the appropriate way to deal with someone else doing something wrong.

Morning Jeni!!!  Ahhha...looks like the Twisnibbins also give parental advice ...

just leave the area

Hmm...should that be our Twisnibbins motto?  I wouldn't want guilt by association, you know...

MUST.WORK.OUT.AND.LEAVE.TWISNIBBIN...
