I am back in PA  I would have stayed in AZ if I could have found someone to bring me my stuff, and my kids. I completed the 13.1 miles but I'm not happy about it at all. The race was great, loved the bands, all that was good. I was slow though. TOO D@MN SLOW! I never really found my pace. I then pulled a muscle in my calf at the gu/water station at mile 8.6. I power limped the rest of the way. I'm still upset about it but not as much. Miles 9-11 were for THE VILLAGE!!! There was no way I wasn't going to finish. Thank you all for the support. I need to go read the last couple of pages, but I was greeted when I got home by a husband and a son with the flu. Guess who has it now. January just isn't turning out to be my month. I'm going to go take another nap, I'll be back later. LOVE YOU ALL!!!! MWAH! you finished! good job Ann (with or without the "e")!! sorry you are not feeling well! instead of January being a crummy rest of the month for you....we will stop the cruminess right now! no more bad will happen to you from here on out~~...from this point forward January is going to be a TIP TOP MONTH! and that feel good feeling will roll over to February....and then on to March..... have a nice nap...drink plenty of fluids (the good clear non alcholic fluids)! remember today is the beginning of the rest of your AMAZING life! |

Today is my last day in Spain and heading home tomorrow. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. Last night was a disaster sleepwise. Around midnight the room next door woke me up with their VERY loud arguing. Best I can tell, it was 4-5 men (how 5 men fit in that room, if it is the same size as mine, is beyond me.) I started slamming my shoe against the wall and they quieted down a bit. But only for a while. At 3am I called the front desk to complain. Grrrrrr. I got my revenge this morning when I got up at 6:30 to go workout. I turned the tv on to CNN, very loud, and left it on for the hour and a half I was in the gym. Not very generous of me, but it felt good. Hope everyone is doing well. PS, love the pic Bill! Ugh! Annoying! I probably would have done something similar. Hope you have a safe flight home! |

You never know what race day throws at you, but you pushed through and finished. That takes a lot of determination. Use it as a learning experience and the second one will be better for sure! Just got back from San Fran. I had a good time and got in a couple of great feeling runs. Plus I got to check out some of the Alcatraz course. And returning to Iowa I am greeted by a lovely ice storm. Woohoo! now that was NOT good timing! well for me it wasnt! I just got back to San Francisco and would have loved to have a running parnter!...but thats not gonna happen...because you just left! did you get the memo that I was heading home on Tuesday and quickly packed to avoid me!??? well! did ya? did ya? Jules!!! If I had known you were going to be back I would have stayed an extra day or 2. Seriously I was looking for any excuse not to come back to the cold. I will be back out in May for Escape from Alcatraz so mark your calendar! |

First of all...life has turned out to have gotten in the way of training...life=partying all weekend at the medical student conference and having a final on friday (ya, i know slightly irresponsible...but the other 150 people in my class are in the same bout) So I've been studying hcore...at least our profs are being slightly understanding to our situation...but then the Faculty is super po'ed at our class for "professionalism" issues because of the actions of this one idiot in the class...(he's awful...he cussed out one of our facilitators and wrote mean things on exam review sheets...which got us all in trouble because he wont go and apologise...hes come to class stoned...hes basically just a giant d'bag and we can't figure out how he got into medicine)...so we got our exam review taken away and now we have a bad wrap as a class...and now we have to figure out how to get it back and complain against him to the faculty..which isnt easy..so we are trying to figure out the best way to handle that... Second of all....GUYS ARE #$%^&*@!@)$*&^)(@* !!!!! GAH!!! (no offense to you Tom/Bill...) K so its the same guy as before with the run in where he asked me to go for lunch and I missed it...Anyways, so we have been talking and messaging all the time for the past 2 weeks! So I finally get up enough gumption (I like this word) to ask him to coffee and I get "So I want to know what you mean by coffee? Because I've kind of started seeing someone and I don't want to lead you on, but incase it is I want to be upfront...but I don't think thats what you mean and I'm probably being a big fool...blah blah blah...but we could totally meet up if not...blah blah blah"...SERIOUSLY...So now I'm in this stupid situation where I have to save face and I feel like the moron...I'm going to go bang my head on the wall...BANG BANG BANG! Ugh...well thats out now...now I get to study...Today has been...just been.... Phew...sorry for unloading...I'm just extremely amped up with frustration today!! |
