Dee being a moderator must go visit with them, but the rest... Um, yes, Dee is a moderator.... But um, Dee tends to visit all the Challenge threads, no matter what the circumstances are. I mean, there's a reason I've got over 4000 posts in this forum alone! LOL Yak yak yak.... followed by more yak yak yak.... and so on! |

I'm really irritated today at some basketball stuff today after my son was twice intentionally pushed (what would be considered a flagrant moving pick) by a kid almost 3 times his size and was hurt after the 2nd incident (which wasn't called and was quite obvious). Let's just say that it wasn't a pretty scene and I was asked to leave. So, I really need to get rid of some aggression regarding bad reffing, opposing coaches who teach their kids on how to be cheap players, and hostile parents and swim. Basketball isn't fun anymore. |

My skin feels SO FRIKKEN dry. Maybe swimming FOUR days in a row would be reaaaaaallly bad? Thinking of trying this myself but here is a link to some anitchlorine shampoo/conditioner/lotion! Click on link below. Apply lotion while you are still damp... I like using a loufra too! http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductBrand.asp?Brand=1154&gclid=CJGeubra4pACFSjRhgodMmooOw |

Urgh) I dread buying new stuff because I don't use/hoard the stuff I have. I'm terrible for that. I recently bought some olay "in shower" lotion...forgot I had that. I just found it however so I will use that one up 1st.
Thanks for the link though, I appreciate it I've saved it into my faves. |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Flying Fish 1stTimeTri - 2008-01-06 2:50 PM So, the wife and I have been online for almost 3 hours trying to figure out vacation plans for Spring Break (still) and just looked at the time. Dang! I won't be able to drive the 30 min. normal travel time to get to the pool because of the bad fog that has been stagnant here all day, and the open swim schedule is good for only another 1 hour. Better to be safe than sorry on the driving. Well, back to vacation planning and more frustration.D001 - 2008-01-06 1:32 PM

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Flying Fish So as you know, I've been sick, so I haven't been working out.... BUT I hit the pool today anyway. (Something about falling behind with my challenge goals, ya know....) AND.... drum roll please.... I had THREE personal bests! Three! Without even trying???? Is that bizarre, or what??? (Maybe I need to take more rest days!) Unfortunately, the pool was WAY crowded - and with 400,000 screaming kids. Actually, I think most of the screaming was done by ONE red-headed kid. I think he inhaled twice during a 90 min time period. The rest of the time, he was letting out a loud, high-pitched screech.... Darling little child.... :P I've updated the spreadsheet. Only two workouts so far, so I'm slightly behind where I'd like to be, but I'll increase my yardage a little, so that I can catch up again. |

Our numbers are looking pretty good considering this was only a half week. I got into the spreadsheet and updated my stats (it's 3200 not 2200). I likely won't get as much per week in the following weeks, so figured I'd try and get ahead a tad. Hey Dee, thanks for the web lesson!! All part of the game. It was a knee to the upper thigh. It was an intentional cheap shot moving pick/flagrant push, but the knee contact was incidental. The kid was doing more football than basketball. I let their coaches and the ref know what I thought, but didn't use vulgarity. The one coach did and I told him to watch his mouth. |

Don't forget to call the league's coordinator/manager. When these things happen in my league I want to know about it. (that's why I love voicemail on Mon mornings - NOT!!) Were the ref's certified officials or just high school kids? Not that it makes a difference (i've had 15 yr olds ref better games than some of the certified officials that get sent out). If you notify the manager (and be prepared with your sons team name, coach name, and game location and time - this all helps the manager know who was refing) at least then you can tell yourself that you've done your part. OFTEN, we (the league managers) don't know about these incidents unless the parent calls. Just be nice and calm on the phone. Edited by geauxtri 2008-01-06 6:30 PM |
