Dang girl, you can't seem to get a break!

How's your day-to-day nutrition? I used to get sick all the time cause I ate fast food daily for lunch... Another thought is are you sure you're eating enough? A lot of times when people try to loose weight they cut too many calories especially if they're working out.  Workouts will weaken your body and immune system, if you don't eat enough you'll be more prone to sickness.

Hope you feel better!

Dude, I'm sick AGAIN.

Swollen tonsils, cranky throat and crazy congestion.

Seriously people, what is WRONG with me?  Who gave me ebola?

Day to day nurtition is actually really good.  I hardly ever eat out, and follow a pretty strict program that an RD put together for me.

My cals are admittedly probably a  little low for how much activity I've been doing lately, but I can't imagine that 100-200 calories a day is why my immune system is shot?

I had a meeting last week on Friday with a mucous infested woman, I was hoping like crazy that I woudln't get sick... grrrr.

This is not the consistency that you need - consistently sick that is... Fluids, airborne, vitamin C, hand sanitizer, paper mask... I bet you'd be willing to try just about anything.

I hope you are able to whip this one quick.  Hang in there, we are all pulling for ya.  Get better soon!!!

Dude - I just got sick reading that!  And trust me, I am not one to get grossed out.  But damn... I just threw up a little in my mouth!

I read somewhere... If you want to feel skinny and smart, just go to Walmart!

Thanks all.  I'm seriously just bombarding my system with everything I can.  The swelling has already gone down in my throat, so I'm hopeful.

I really like the new trianer. The resistance on it is slightly more than the old one, I like that. I feel better once I get on the road and have similar numbers. So for CycleOpes I give the CS dept an A+.

Awesome!  I recently discovered that I had my resistance set way to high on my trainer and can pedal my butt off and only hit about 13 mph, but while outside I can do an easy ride and keep my HR comfortable and maintain 15 mph pretty comfortably.  Talk about an ego boost!

Trainer question...  Do y'all change your skewers out on the axle for the trainer vs road rides?  I change it to a more rounded - trainer friendly skewer.

Second question... Do y'all change tires/wheels for trainer rides?  I don't have a second wheel set, so I don't change that.  I have seen ads for trainer specific tires.  The resistence, if too much, can wear out a tire pretty quick.  I have raised the resistence before and left plenty of tread on the metal wheel.  I ride Rubino slicks.  I am considering a change soon, considering the Continentals or the Gator Skins.  Tougher tires (heavier too) but more flat resistent.

Any input?

I do use the trainer skewer since my other one didn't fit the trainer at all.  Now I just use the trainer skewer all the time...

I don't change tires for the trainer but I do use the Continental 4000's and have never had a flat since I've gotten them (knock on wood). They hold up pretty good to trainer abuse but I honestly don't do the trainer that much. My longest trainer ride ever will be tomorrow, go figure. I already know I'll be mental/physical mush at the end of 3.5hrs but I'll let ya know how the tires hold up

I use trainer skewers.  My Ultegra skewers are super soft and I don't want to screw them up on the trainer.  They also don't fit so.......

I use my Ultrgra rims on my trainer and leave the Zipps on my BMC.  I have not heard that riding on the trainer messes up tires but I have enough wheels around that its not going to mater.  Bontrager Race, Shimano Ultegra, and Zipp 303's.  Small medium and Large HEH.

I went why to hard today.  I almost hurled when I got done!

I do change out my skewer and my back tire when I ride on the trainer.  While living in St. Louis I was riding 10+ hours per week on that baby in the winter and didn't want to wear out good expensive tires on it.

But I would suggest that unless you're riding a lot on the trainer, the occasional session won't kill your tires.

Happy Hump Day everyone...half way through this week!

All good info...Tanks-a-million.  Here's another (non-training related - yet fun tri question)...if money were not an issue.  What would be your premier choice of bike(s)?  I have tossed around a few faves...the P3 is always a good choice, then I was really liking the Scoot Plasma 2 Ltd, but now...I really would like to have the new Quintana Roo CD01 with the Zipp 808 set up.  The latest issue of Triathlete has some articles/listings for the top 2009 toys, and it influenced this question.

Of course I would really love to go into a Pro Shop and be checked out and put on the perfect bike for my dimensions...and with a little luck it would be one of the three I listed.

I change skewers so it fits in the trianer. I have no extra or spare tires.

I actually got up this morning and rode the trianer. Man there must have been something wrong with the original one I bought. The resistance is so much greater now. Its like a 2 gear difference. I like it though. I will get better results with the harder resistance. Just cant let the lower distance numners get to me and focus on time.

DUDE! Is that a hijacked photo or is that yours?  Cuz, if it's yours - I am totally jealous!!! Very nice! I totally have some weird bike fetish.  These frickin' high end tri bikes make me delirious.  I need to get a third and fourth job so that I can stop looking (& drooling) and just buy one.  A blue version of Macca's...very nice!  Doing Warp Factor 8 just sittin' still!

I wish it was mine!! I saw that pic somewhere else and saved it. If I had that bike it would have to stay hidden from the wife because I would be immediatly castrated. I was jsut posting to the"Wish" list bike if I had won the MegaMillion Jackpot last night. I feel faster just looking at it.

Very nice Epy, That BMC is high speed - low drag... I do like the ridley as well.

I am right there with you guys, went used and picked up a super clean QRoo Tequilo last year (and yes, it definetly cost less than a single Zipp 808.  I do love my bike though, as the fit is very good.  But, I would love to upgrade components and wheels of course.  I have Ult/105 mix and would like to upgrade to either DA or S-Ram Red.  If money only grew on the trees in my front yard...

If you were me...would you invest in the components or wheels.  Wheels - probably Flashpoint 60's front/rear ($1500 w/ tax - brand new)  Component Set - ($1800-2100ish)  The wheels are faster than the components - I have read that over and over, but...

Believe it or not, my wife has offered to LET me buy a high end bike...I guess to shut me up.  But I have an aversion to financing a several thousand dollar bike.  I make payments on cars and a house, not a bike.  That is the only thing holding me back, from flying down the road on one of those fine machines.  If/when I come across, say 10K just lying around the house, I may run out and pick me one up.  However, I am sure my wifey might have something else to say about that... I might end up with, say 6 of the 10K... LOL!

Powertap will make you faster than both of those

If I were to choose between those two though, I'd go with components and rent the wheels. Wheels will always have a latest/greatest new thing of the year that you'll want to have, components would leave me not wanting to buy more every year and prolong the life of the bike since they do eventually wear out...
