I don't know if you guys noticed in Stage 4 how Big George made a huge pull, then someone else came up front to pull and he dropped to #2, that guy dropped off and bailed and George made another pull right at the very end - that guy is an animal.

Yes.  The guy is a machine.

Jeez, our team was all over the tarmac yesterday.  Boonen had a nasty fall after hitting the rider in front of him.

Then, add insult to injury, the officials penalized Boonen on the mid-course sprint.  To me, from the couch, he got pushed across the road by the lead out.  Cavendish whining again!

Not having a good Tour are we. Stage 5 was the most I've seen of Tom so far & it was only because of of the camera bikes dropped back to show him suffering. Seems Chavanel isn't feeling much better either. Sprinting will be left up to Ciolek for a while but he's not in the class of the others. Perhaps Pineau may decide to get into a breakaway soon.

I missed the bit about Tom getting penalized. Thanks. I'll have to look it up.

Stage 3 done for me last night done with small group of five. Filthy wet roads & as the weather was due to get a lot worse we stayed close to home. Did some laps around a local pub. Turned out to be a sprint interval session for 20 of the miles. Grueling!

From AP:

On top of his injury, Boonen was penalized along with Rojas for an "irregular sprint" during the intermediate sprint earlier in the day's stage, race officials said. The riders were stripped of points used to calculate who wins the Tour's green jersey awarded to the best sprinter.

Boonen was on Rojas's half wheel when he starting drifting to the right side of the road.  To me, Boonen was forced to follow his direction or brake.  The change in direction came across Cavendish trying to break up the outside.  Rojas was the one in the wrong in my opinion.

Okay.  Updated spreadsheet. I missed two stages, but I'm slowly increasing my session times to make up for total hours.

Going for a long ride tomorrow, its suppose to be a great day! I'll take some pics while im out.

Bill, being a devils fan kinda came about because i was a defenceman growing up and my favorite players were Niedermayer and Stevens as I was a big hitter when I played. Plus Brodeur is canadian also, got lots of slack for it, but the devils always beat the Leafs, not so hard!

Some great pics being shared, keep em coming

Cheers!

Got an unplanned stage in tonight...  Got back from my run and hubby wanted to me to ride a bit to watch the end of the stage we were watching.  It was a short ride, but still counts.  I need to start getting some distance in or I'm going to have to do a century on the last one!  Surprised

OK got my last stage in for 10 days - wish the Tour took a break because I won't be seeing it at all - boooooo! Time to DVR

I finished the first 1/2 just 10 miles down from my goal so I should be alright for the final week.

Have a great 10 days everyone!

Rhoda - where is the wedding going to be at?

The weather has been great since June - Mar-May not so much!

Can remember the church off the top of my head...  but the reception will be at the Buffalo Historical Society.

Hubby got my bike fixed last night so it is actually road-worthy again (not just trainer worthy).  Woo hoo!  Hope to get it outside this weekend even though both days look to be scorchers.  I will try to remember my camera!

75.5 miles for me today. Very, very hilly. 1788 metres of climbing. 14 climbs with a gradient of 14% to 20%.  Climbed Gun Hill which is included in one of the Tour of Britain Stages.

Quote -"Rising 153 metres in 2.7km, this tough little climb once reduced Mark Cavendish to tears on a training ride with its 6% average gradient, and will be featuring in The Tour of Britain as a King of the Mountains climb for the third consecutive year."

Group ride, so I couldn't say to the lads, 'Hey stop a minute, I want to take a photo'. I've had to cheat & find some images.

Churnet Valley Railway - volunteer run. Think they were cooking breakfast on the fire as we could smell bacon as we passed.

Titteswoth Reservoir - Water level was really low due to lack of rain. Stopped at the visitor centre. Tea for four please.

Rode past the 16th Century 'Ship Inn'. Must call in for a drink sometime.

Nice pics Martin!

Seems I have fallen off my training lately due to so many races.  In fact, Wednesday night will be my third race in a week.  I think I should be demoted to the guy that rides back-and-forth to the team car for support (forget the term).  I hope the rest of you are doing better than me!

It's Domestique Tim.

Found this but don't know when it happened.

Domestiques do their best to entertain themselves. José Antonio Garrido, a rider with Quick Step, impressed all by carrying 16 bidons to his team-mates: one in his mouth, two in his pockets, two in bottle cages, six under the front of his jersey and five under the back! Then, Sacchi, a rider with Milram, beat the record by carrying... 18 bidons. The Italian champion Francesco Moser promised the record-holder the same number of wine bottles at the end of the race.

I believe this one was corn.  There were tons and tons of fields of corn.  Some other fields that I couldn't figure out either.  And some cows right next to the road.  I took their pic but don't know what happened to it...
