I'm happy to say I did what I set out to do: 2x weekly core streghtening sessions including... - 3 x 10/15 crunches - 3 x 20/30 twisting crunches (alternating sides) - 3 x 10 1/4 sit ups - 3 x 10 side raises (left and right) - 3 x 10 6" leg raises
I feel like I've set up a good habit of working my core on the same days I work my legs, which is what I set out to do. I can also tell that I'm getting stronger. At first, I wasn't able to do the 6" leg raises very well at all, with little or no control. But, this last week, I was amazed at how easily I was able to raise my legs up, control how high, hold them there for a beat or two, and the lower them down in a controlled manner. Next step, get to the point where I don't need the rolled towel to support my lower back! My next goal is to explore different core exercises and see how many I can incorporate into my workout, and go from there. ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif)
