Subject: RE: Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon : Official ThreadFrom what I've heard, the swim was longer for everyone this year. Based on last year's results, I expected to be at 30 minutes exactly, and this year NO ONE in my age group broke that time. Last year there was something like at least 50 that did. Having a fast swim also makes a huge difference in avoiding the bottlenecks and crowds on the run course. I'm slow on the bike, and generally even slower on the run, but getting out of the water and onto the course before everyone else made it so I was able to keep at a my race pace almost the entire time. I loved the race though and if time and funds allow will be all about coming back next year. |
