Expert 1060 Weymouth, MA | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge Nice job. Gator I am the same way. I have one swim workout, one run, and a strength training left. I'm definitely going to get there. |

Master 1420 Victoria, BC | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge After my Group Fit class tomorrow - I'll be at 78% ... not great but I'm trying to look at it as not the work-outs that I missed - but rather the ones that I completed. A lot better than most people do in a week. After taking it easy this week, if I sit out tomorrow's race then I have the Dr's all-clear to continue training normally next week - provided I don't do anything stupid and re-injure myself. Let's all cross our fingers - as I am very apt to do stupid things. ;-) I'm also struggling with trying to fit in Group Fit classes ... supposed to attend two additional a week - will someone please jam a few more days into the week for me! I'll post my next week's sched once I fine-tune it a bit. Good work guys! You 100%'ers are kicking my arse! |

Veteran 242 Reading, Berkshire (UK) | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge One pesky swimming session... that's all I missed (as long as I do my strength set today -- which I will). Grrrrrr - I was at least a 90% person at school, so I'm hating this, which will probably be good for me in the long run. Anyway, my challenge this week is that I'm away from home on business and I usually struggle with getting to the gym to put in my workouts. But that's where you come in... |

Master 1420 Victoria, BC | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge My sched for this week (and I'm aiming for 100%, although I was a straight 60%'er all through high school;-). Mon - Cardio class a.m., Spin with tri club p.m. Tues - 8K run a.m., yoga at studio p.m. Wed - hill repeats a.m., swim on lunch Thurs - run 40 min on lunch Fri - bike/run brick on lunch (tentative - might go for lunch with co-workers) Sat - run 10K Sun - Group Fit class Thanks everyone for the encouragement this past week ... it really did mean a lot through a very frustrating and painful time. |

Veteran 144 Tampa, FL | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge 100% this week! Hoping to keep it going next week. Way to go rcberto for the 100%! Gillyfev, one missed swim is awesome, keep it up! Spiritfire, 78% is a passing grade :-) Good job fitting so much into a crazy schedule. Keep it up everyone and I'm sure it will pay off in the end! |

Expert 1060 Weymouth, MA | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well on their plans. After I do my run tomorrow I'll have completed all my minutes for the 2x oly plan. That plan is twice as tough as the sprint plan I've been following! Last Sunday I pulled an oblique/rear ribcage muscles so I cut out strength training for the week. I powered through all swimming which hurt a bit, all biking which didn't hurt at all, and all running which was pretty painful. I think its pretty much healed so tomorrow's run shoudl be fine. Well, that's the story from Massachusetts. I hope the sunny south and across the pond and everywhere else is doing better! |

Master 1420 Victoria, BC | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge I went 89% this week - 8 for 9 workouts. I missed my scheduled 8K run on Tuesday. But once again - I'm focusing on the workouts I DID get in, and not focusing on the one that I missed. My sched for this coming up week, which is an easy/recovery week for me: Mon - OFF DAY Tues - hill repeats, swim 30 min Wed - run 40 min Thurs - Group Fit class Fri - run 5K, yoga class Sat - OFF DAY Sun - *Bazan Bay 5K race*, Group Fit class edit - sorry to hear about the shoulder injury rcberto! I feel your pain, I really do. ;-) Edited by SpiritFire 2008-03-02 11:20 AM |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge Hi guys! I'm doing some clean-up on the stickied threads. If you guys want/need to keep the thread up here, that's absolutely fine. Otherwise, I can drop you down to the forum below. (I think you PM'd me earlier about this - but I wanted to leave you here, so people would see it.) If you want to get unstickied -- You may want to add a link to the thread in the goals section of your logs though, or bookmark it. There are a lot of challenge teams down there. Your choice! I can leave you up here, or release the thread! |

You can unpin it but can you reply here and tell us how to copy it into our logs? I'll leave it here for as long as you want/need it. There's no "rush" to drop it down. To put a link in your logs: 1) Copy this: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge 2) Go to the Goals section of your log, and paste it where you want it. If you want something "fancier," let me know. Edited by D001 2008-03-03 10:06 PM |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge Before I even think about unsticking this.... Here's a question for you: Since this runs from Feb - June, can people still join? If so, I'll leave it stickied here until June. |

Veteran 242 Reading, Berkshire (UK) | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan (Feb-June) Challenge Hi D, I would have said people can join until probably April (after that they won't have enough weeks to get a reasonable score!). But I don't mind if you keep us stickied or drop us down To the rest of the challenge gang, sorry I've been AWOL for a while. Work and a baby plus a family visit or two are keeping me more than busy. The good news is that this challenge inspired me to meet all my training while I was travelling on business! The not so good news is that I crashed and burned (metaphorically) on this week's training (this challenge is proving harder than I thought!!) -- although the one session I did manage was my best and longest run this year so far. So a clean slate for next week, and I'm going to focus on hitting all my training, because after that I'm off on holiday!!! |

That way people will know they can still join the challenge. And I'll leave you stickied up top, so people will be able to find you. - Dee |

Master 1420 Victoria, BC | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan Challenge (thru June) I agree with Gilly - this challenge is proving harder than I thought. I'll just say now that I too crashed and burned on this week's schedule ... I'm not even going to tell you how badly. My only consolation is that this was an easy/recovery week anyway, so at least I didn't miss any crucial training sessions. I have a 5K race tomorrow, I expect I will MOP ... I haven't run outside in over a week, I've just been treading it when I have been running. But it's a great race - flat and fast and along the ocean, so if nothing else I'll have gorgeous scenery. |

Veteran 242 Reading, Berkshire (UK) | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan Challenge (thru June) Good luck with your race Spirit! Let us know how it went. I've had to revise my plan for the coming week, because DH won't be home in time for me to make swimming. So: 3x run; 3x core; 1x swimming (and I'll try to make 2) While the challenge is tough, I've just realised two things which might help: 1. When I get back from holiday there will be only 7 weeks until my first race... 2. It's about to start getting really embarrassing with my signature (2 weeks on plan out of 4 is ok, just...) |

Master 1420 Victoria, BC | Subject: RE: Stick to the Plan Challenge (thru June) The race was good ... I easily broke 32 min (5K race) so I'm happy with that. Certainly not my fastest race, but considering where I am in my training - I'm pleased. I could have kicked it a bit harder, too, but of course we never realize that until the finish line. ;-) My sched for this week (which I plan on sticking to like glue!): Mon - hill repeats (t), run 40 min Tues - bike/run brick, core work Wed - swim 30 min Thurs - bike 30 min (t-weather), run 60 min Fri - yoga, swim 30 min Sat - OFF DAY! Sun - hill repeats, run 40 min See you all next week - keep it up! |

This is so true, isn't it. I have 10 weeks until my first tri, thankfully it's a sprint distance. My realization came when I realized this Saturday (Mar 15) is only 12 weeks till my 1/2 Mary! Holy crap. I need to start running more. |

I did mean to drop by and mention this before I went, but life got too crazy. If you're all still out there, how about a recap?
I am now rushing to leave work so I haven't even figured out my line, but hopefully you're still all out there... |
