Me again,

I am loving this thread so far.   Before this, I all I knew there was a cycling race in France and that Lance usually raced it.   My husband sent me the Tour link and WOW, there is SO much info there and lots to learn.  Cool   It is really interesting.

I already have ambitious goals for next year.   Smile

I have been doing some aggressive cycling over the past 3-4 weeks, relative to me, and at night my right hip, on the side,  gets really achy between 2:00-5:00 a.m. and then when I get moving in the morning it goes away.

And when I am cycling, I can feel it in the same place, but only sometimes.   Other times it is fine.

Any thoughts on what is going on?   Why this is?    I have also really only started using my aero bars alot in the last four weeks and also have been doing ALOT of hill training.

Thanks.   Smile

I dont know much about hips but if its just one side then I would keep an eye on it...

Make sure you are stretching well an thoroughly thought your lower body... including your ITB and hip flexors...

Have you had your bike fitted up for you by a bike shop? Might be a good idea to check there isnt anything in your ste up that could be causing the problems....

Yay! Glad you are up and around! Happy riding!
I've been looking for a stage I can actually do so todays 24 mile TTT is a distance I can do. So that's what I'll do later in the day (without the team).

Hi there,

Stage # 2, 60 minutes, coming up today.    Wasn't sure if it was going to happen when I first woke up!   Slept 10  hours last night.   Guess my race took more out of me than I thought.  Surprised    My race report is up if anyone wants to have a look and give me some advice.    Always grateful for the help.

Congrats on your race the other day!  I'm definitely with you in terms of it would have been nice if they had let you cross some sort of line to "finish" the race.

Ive never attempted an entire page of posts talking to myself

But the way some peoples post counts are increasing I might have to considering learning some of the tricks or someone will soon overtake me as #1 BT poster

losta - 2009-07-04 6:23 PM Congrats on the new bike! What did you get? I bet you could ride 24 hours up there. I was just up in Alaska a few weeks ago. I rode today in my Alaska cycling Jersey and Seward bike shop socks.

Thanks very much! I bought a Specialized Rockhopper, with an extra set of thinner, smooth tires for longer road biking (when I get to that point!). It's been awesome so far. And yep - my legs give out long before the sunlight does... I haven't seen darkness in several weeks now.

Did you come to Alaska to take a cruise?

KRISTINA, congrats on your new bike   Here in Iceland it also does not get dark right now and I just simply love summer. Usually it is also the best weather (no wind) around midnight and my husband and me have been talking about going biking one time around mdinight....maybe it will happen during this challenge

I may have to try that, too. That's such a great idea! I'd probably have to take a nap first (which makes me feel old) but a midnight bike ride sounds like fun.

I don't have an actual schedule that I'm following, but I think today is going to be a day off for me. I was exhausted last night, didn't sleep particularly well and am still kind of tired. Need to let my body recuperate.

What's everybody got planned over the next couple of days?

Weird question, but I've been wondering....Since many of these stages are quite long do these riders ever pee from the bike?

Can anybody give a brief summary of the TdF thus far? (well, minus the last 24 hours, of course!) I don't have television, so I haven't been able to watch, and all of the websites are reeeeaallly in-depth and kind of confusing. How are things going over there?

I broke my toe Sunday, so I may have to increase my goals.  Yup, increase them.  Since I can't run, I cut the toes out of an old pair of cycling shoes and completed Stage 2 today.  Since I can't run, I'll be riding more.  Go Saxobank.
