Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread I rode my bike to work again today (third day in a row!) I'm counting all my bike commuting for the day as a single stage, and today will be slightly longer than my usual commute because I have dinner plans after work, then I'm supposed to hang out with some friends after dinner... All of which I will be biking to! I got a little wet from the rain this morning, but nothing like some of the monsoon-like weather we'd been having the last few weeks! |

Nice job commuting via bike and toughing it out this morning! Enjoy your time with friends. |

Member 74 | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread One more stage down tonight. Today was supposed to be a day off from biking. I had a run planned instead, but I didn't feel like doing that workout. The only way I could justify skipping the run was if I bike another stage. Great ride: a couple of hills, but nothing too steep, which allowed me to pick up some speed. |

Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Good morning everyone! Bike's on the back of the car again, so hopefully I'll get a ride in tonight. Have to take it easy though, because I'm meeting some friends for a long-ish ride tomorrow (but not as long as our Garmin TdF team!). |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Commuted to work again this lovely morning! I don't know what I'm going to do once it starts getting cold and icy out (in a few months ), since I'm definitely getting used to bike commuting. I love it so much better than taking the train! I'm hoping to get a semi-long ride in on Sunday - maybe 40 miles? I hope I don't overdo it since I haven't had a long ride for about 3 weeks (was out of town last weekend, and the weekend before there was a huge thunderstorm). I have to keep reminding myself I'm tapering... I can ride my heart out NEXT weekend during my race |

I keep thinking I should be doing more, but a friend pointed out that I'm right on track on my planned vs actual goals... And then I've been feeling tired all week - not sure if it's from the taper or traveling last week. But I hear all of that is normal during taper period, so hopefully that means I'll be ready come race time! |

At the time I attributed it nerves! Of course, it couldn't have anything to do with all of that training that was needed, right? I'm sure you are going to rock your race. You have all of your nutrition plans in place, right, and you practiced them? And checklists, right? All of the little things so that you don't have to worry and you won't forget anything... Can't wait to hear about it! |

Can't wait to hear about it! Yep, I think I have the nutrition down... I've been using heed on my long rides, and Accel Gels on my long runs (did my first marathon in April) so I think I'll just do Heed on the bike and gels on the run. I will probably also do some gels on the bike, maybe when I stop to refill my water. I've decided not to worry about stopping at aid stations because my first tri I tried to grab water at an aid station and promptly crashed my bike. Don't want to repeat that for my HIM! my bike handling skills are better now than back then, but I still don't want to risk injury over something so silly! I've done long runs & rides in the trishorts & top I'm planning on wearing, but just in case, I'll keep some Body Glide and Chamois Butt'r in my transition bag ;-) Oh and sunblock - very important! But yeah, I think I'm set! I'm already getting nervous thinking about it! |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Got a 10-mile run in this morning with my marathon training group, then a wetsuit-less OWS with my tri club... Which I biked to! So I knocked out a total of 16+ miles and another stage this morning. I may bike some more later, depending on whether I decide to ride to 2 birthday parties I'm going to later today. Tomorrow is my long ride! |

I half way complete, I know my goal was small but wasn't sure how my PT on my sacrum would make me feel, It is doing great! I am glad I am taking the time to work out this old injury, I think it is paying off. Not sure if spreadsheet is calculating me in, is doesn't look like the team % changes and I have to add my % finish it doesn't automatically come up, if someone who is good at the spreadsheet can take a look. Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread I had a nice weekend on Cape Cod with family. I think I am keeping up with my TdF goals. Fit in most of my workouts without totally missing out on family stuff. Balancing it all is tricky sometimes. Off to work this morning. At least it will be cool there. I am soooo done with the heat right now. Give me a nice 70 degree day pulleez! |
