Nothing wrong with that. You just better hope people agree with you or you're going to be out there marching for a long time with no real benefits. In Chicago, in front of the Congress Hotel there were picketers for years -- from the time I arrived in 2006 until the time I left in 2010. They were always there. After a while you just got used to them being there. That's not effective. But hey, more power to 'em. They were there last time I stayed at that hotel in the fall. Makes for an interesting story to tell the wife when I call home. |

If people in Wisconsin want them recalled, then we'll handle it. Keep Mormons out of Wisconsin! |

What bothers me is Americans who engage in civil disobedience, then whine about the consequences of their actions. It is called civil disobedience for a reason! I am sure Nelson Mandela, MLK, and Gandhi would love to have received a mere Disturbing the Peace or Unlawful Assembly fine for their actions. "Wait? What? You did not become a political prisoner? You did not get beaten? No death threats? What are you complaining about again? What is your cause again, the one that you are unwilling to accept the equivalent of a parking fine for?" She was a President of the Los Angeles Unified School Board that dared challenge the authority of the local union. She had to have the FBI investigate death -threats against her kids three times. Agree, disagree. Protest, don't protest. But seriously, WTF! |
