Nurses or Medical professional? (Page 3)

ATC for 12 plus years.

 Unfortunately many people have a misunderstanding about what a certified athletic trainer is.  We are not personal trainers but recognized allied health care providers who provide health care services to individuals who are physically active. 

We work in colleges and univeristies, medical centers, rehabilitation clinics, high schools and industry.  If ATCs get fired up about not being considered by some as health care professionals it is because of frequent misunderstandings about our educational backgrounds and what we do.  As a professional association we are trying to dispel these misunderstandings and promote our profession for what it is. 

So whether any insuilt or ill will was intended or not it is an issue many of us are sensitive to.
