Master 2287 Calgary, Alberta | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks So what's everyone got planned (re training) for this coming long weekend? Saturday will be the 15th (mid way through the month). Swim I swam 2000 meters this morning pushing me past 50% towards my swim goal for the month. Bike I plan a 22 km bike ride tomorrow morning. Maybe another shorter ride on Sunday. Run 6 km run with a couple of hill repeats tonight. 10 km run on Saturday. I wish everyone a Happy Easter. |

Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks I've got a pretty big weekend planned. The wife and I are visiting my parents in Kelowna and we are going to bike part of the Ironman Canada course in Penticton. I think we are doing 35km ride on Friday and a 10k run, 75km ride on Sat, and a 15k run on Sunday. If all goes well this weekend my biking goal and running goal are in the bag, I should be close enough to finish them without having to push it. The swim on the other hand is going to take some work. I have 5 hours and 10 min left to do and time is running out. I'm pretty sure I'll make it but this one is going to be tight. Have a great easter weekend everyone . Update: So i just checked my planned training for the month. I missed a few swims for various reasons so far this month and have 4 hours and 15 planned for the rest of the month which isn't going to cut it. So I now need to do all my planned training and throw in an extra hour somewhere. Don't worry people I'll get it done. Added complication my pool is closed for matenince the last week of the month, so I'll need to find an alternate place to swim. |

Expert 647 Sarnia, Ontario | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks Sorry for lagging behind. Work suddenly turned crazy. 12-14 hour days for the last 7 straight doesn't leave much time to train, or me feeling like training for that matter. I don't know if this might be a valid reason for me to drop out. If it is, I probably should as the next week won't be much better. I'm trying. I haven't given up on my goals yet. Go Canucks!! |

Extreme Veteran 506 Twin Cities, MN | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks I have a 45 minute swim and a 45 minute bike workout scheduled for tomorrow before I leave town. Saturday I have at least a 60 minute run planned. I am making much more progress with swim & run this month; now that I am off the trainer, daylight seems to get in the way! I may just have to get my bike back inside . We have a long ride event (62 miles) on the 30th. It makes me a little nervous to leave that much of my bike time to the last day of the month, though! Happy training and happy Easter, all! |

Expert 647 Sarnia, Ontario | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks Metric century ride yesterday certainly helped make up for some of my missed bike time. I haven't given up yet. Don't plan too. Yesterday was a day of firsts: - first group ride - longest ride to date - first metric century ride - fastest max speed (49.4 kph downhill) - fastest average speed (amazing what can happen with a little encouragement/competition) - steepest hill climbed (10% grad. climb 120 feet) - first time in Tim Hortons in spandex and a cycling jersey Go Canucks! |

Master 2287 Calgary, Alberta | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks Week 3 stats attached. The team total is sitting at 50.56% but this can be misleading as a few people are closing in on 100% for some of their sports. Again what matters at the end of this month is that as many of us reach 100% + in each of our sports. With 2 weeks remaining take a look at the chart. Go out there and post some inspirations for the teammates you think may need some extra support. PM me if you see any errors. Have a great week of training! Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks I've got some bad news people. I suffered a pretty bad injury this weekend. My puppy escaped from my parents home and in the chase in bare feet I somehow raked my foot agaist the asphalt and took a few layers of skin completely off my big toe. I couldn't get in any runs or bikes this weekend and I'm not sure when I will be able to again. It hurts quite a bit. I'm going to try and bandage it up and see if I can get a ride in today, but it looks like running will be out for a few days at least because walking is still kinda painful. Also I was advised to stay out of the water for a while. So seeing on how my bike goes today I think I may be able to do it and still make that goal, but running and swimming doesn't look good. I'll try and see what I can get in, maybe take this week as a rest week and put in some extra time next week. I did however have a great time in kelowna and drank lots of wine . Luckly my father is the general manager of an awesome organic winery so he has quite the supply and sends us home with a case or 2 everytime we visit. |

Expert 647 Sarnia, Ontario | Subject: RE: April Multisport Challenge - Crazy Canucks Sorry about the injury. And I thought me working 12-14hrs a day was interfering with training, an injury is worse. Keep your spirits up, it's a long way from your heart, it'll heal. Don't give up on your training, you've got some time left yet this month. |
