Subject: RE: Firstnet911's Group- Closed with a great grouplrunfit - 2007-12-23 12:16 PM My goal is to run 120 miles - we will see. What happens if we go over our goal? A few things to consider, but first, what I'm attempting - since I'm not a very good swimmer, I am pledging 20,000 yards of swimming. I am doubling my pledge from last month. I felt it was attainable but not out of reach (30,000 would probably kill my shoulder) nor too easy (10,000), and it was within reason due to many factors (one being family time, basketball practice, etc.). Now, with you being in Wisconsin, and with the weather we just had today (miserable, isn't/wasn't it!), the predictability factor of having decent enough outside weather will certainly come into play, or the use of an indoor track or use of a "d"readmill. Since you came from a running background, and if you have the use of an indoor track or a treadmill, then is the 120 running miles easily attainable (30 miles per week)? If so, bump it up to make it a challenge. Now, if you go over your goal, then it depends on the challenge co-ordinator. Usually they will allow you to expand the challenge goal and you need to report it, or you can be accredited with 10 - 20% over what you attained (but that means the challenge goal was too easy to reach). I believe Dee (D001) has posted most of the information already. Good luck! |
