No morning workout today.  Heading to the Y at lunch for a long swim.  I'm just planning to swim as long as I can... maybe an hour.  Temps are supposed to hit 90 here to day... NICE!

I'm coaching my 10-y-o daughter's first softball game tonight.  She woke up and said she's feeling very nervous and her stomach hurt.  Sounds like how I feel before every race.  I didn't want to tell her that, since it's my first game as a coach, I'm just as nervous as she is.  Can't wait!

How exciting, good luck tonight!  Great day for a game too.  I remember my first softball games being wet and COLD.  But then again, that was Buffalo.  WinkWink

And that was in August!!!  (from a former Buffaloian)

Nope August is our 1 good month

You know...  we have been contemplating a move back to Buffalo.  I may have to rethink this a little.  It's all coming back to me now!

Honestly with the lack of traffic and cold weather gear - I just go and workout.  The weather does not phase me but it does get old not seeing the sun.  Luckily I travel periodically with work and that makes up for it.

I agree it can be depressing but they are good people around here.  And I can say that since I am not from here

All kidding aside, the weather never really bothered me growing up.  The weather is what it is and you work with it.  I think I get more annoyed here in Albany because you get a lot of the same weather but they don't know how to handle it.

I do miss the area.  Just being back for the weekend, I was reminded of the sense of community and history and all the things that make you want to call a place "home".  I don't feel as much of that here.  Maybe it has to do with so many state politicians coming and going all the time?  Until now, we just haven't had an opportunity to think about the move back.  If we do, I'd like to do it sooner though before the kids get too far into school, etc.

brick94513 - 2010-04-07 9:00 AM Good morning "A" team!  Caught a case of insomnia last night.  Woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I thought I would try to sneak a west coast post in before Bill.  Hmmm... no such luck!

Must be something in the "A-Team air".  I had a very rough night's sleep, which after a double-up workout day is very uncommon.  Maybe I'll curl up under my desk and take a nap, George Costanza-style!!!!

No kidding!  I woke up in my daughter's bed around 5 am.  Both kids have been waking up a lot lately.  So often, in fact, that I apparently don't even wake up to go check on them.  I just crawl into their bed, I guess?  I was too lazy to actually get out of bed and go back to my own bed.  But afraid I would oversleep without my alarm.  So I just laid there thinking of every thing I have to do today...

But we did have exciting news this morning.  My oldest daughter was complaining her teeth hurt.  Turns out she has her first loose tooth!!

Cool - you do believe in the tooth fairy right? - LOL

Absolutely.  Although, I have no idea what the tooth fairy pays these days...  I have a feeling it's not the silver dollars that I got when I was a kid.

Hahaha... The local tooth fairy leaves $5 around here.  I wish she would of been around when I was a kid.

brick94513 - 2010-04-06 7:06 PM Darn.  I got in the pool today and developed the worst headache.  Struggled through the first part of the workout, then just cut it short.  The only thing I can think of is dehydration, but during my ride earlier I hydrated at my normal rate.  Drank my Recoverite at the end of the ride as normal and consumed 16 ounces of water per hour for the next two hours.  Not really sure what happened.

Doesn't sound like fun at all.  Hope you're doing better now.

Sorry it was a tough night for some of you.  I took the opportunity to sleep in today. We are getting ready for a high school trip and I am the head chaperon so its been kind of busy and I haven't gotten to bed until after midnight for at least the last week. We'll be wrapping things up tonight and heading out tomorrow.  We'll be gone for almost a week so I'll be online today and part of tomorrow and then you probably won't hear from me until I get back.

I'm going to have to push to meet my goals this month.  Here it is the 7th and I've only have one workout in my training log. I will reach my goals though.

Just checking the weather in Anaheim (where we're going for the school trip) and of course the forecast is nice until the day we get there. Then the fog rolls in and the the temperature drops and there is a chance of rain on the day we're supposed to go to the beach. I'm going to have to talk to the person that scheduled this trip.

Paul, what are you guys going to do in Anaheim?  My parents live about 10 minutes from there.  I grew up in Orange County.

The kids are competing in the Heritage Music Festival (I don't remember what school it is being held at), then we're doing the Disney thing.

I went to bed at about 11.  Then my middle boy came in around 2 and sprawled out in the bed.  Then, my wife came home from work at 4:30, put my little guy back in bed, changed, use the bathroom, and so on.  By then, I was awake.  I laid there for a while, but there was no falling back to sleep.

I had one of those nights where you're waking up and looking at the clock about every 45 minutes.  It was pretty warm last night and we probably would have been better off turning on the A/C, but the penny-pincher side of me has a hard time flipping that switch in early April.  Also had a weird dream about having to sleep in a bed infested with mice.  But that's for another therapist session.Embarassed

Ouch!  Disneyland on Spring Break; How I don't envy you!  We did that a couple years ago and it was nuts.  Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your trip.  If you need any info about the area, let me know.

We just do a buck a tooth (are we cheap or what???).  Our middle daughter had to get 4 pulled for orthodontic reasons, so we gave her the "frequent toother special" of $5 for 4 teeth.

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-07 11:15 AM I have an awesome story:

I get home last night and my son is making a grilled cheese.  I ask him to make me one.  His comment - Why didn't you call me from the road and I would have had one ready for you (I was riding 1st of all!).  I tell him come on make me a sandwich.  So he does after he cut his in half.  As he is making me mine I steal one of the halves of his and stuff it in my mouth.  He turns around to leave and goes hey????  I look at our dog and blame her while still chewing!

We laughed so hard.  I offered him half of mine but he didn't want it!

Later he made me payback by letting him have my cereal for a snack instead of his.  Yes I have my own cereal and they get in trouble for eating it

I have an awesome son - just want you all to know

Sounds like you have a good relationship with your son. You'll appreciate it more as he gets older and the teen temperment kicks in.
