Subject: RE: Ghoulie eliptical v ST November challengeskrtrnr - 2009-11-09 9:52 AM i was just reminded when i went to the Y today, that i was a three years ago this week that i joined the Y....
i need to post the pic of how i looked back then.
the people at the front desk of the Y keep telling me that i look like a completely different person than the picture they have on file/the pic they took when i joined....
AND....
one of the personal trainers at the Y has known me for years - before i joined the Y.
she pulled me aside today and told me that she pointed me out as a role model to one of her personal training clients (she works 1-1 w people at the Y)
she said the woman has been really struggling w sticking w her routine, and losing weight, and just really down on herself.
K. said she pointed me out to her, and told her how i used to be 'just like' her, and how i stuck w the plan and kept working out, and to look at me, how fit and athletic i am.
she told her how i ran a 1/2 mary this weekend (K. ran the same race and SMASHED the course, took 6th place in her age group and shes not even a 'runner' yeah right. LOL) and how ive been training for triathlons.
K. was so sweet, she said "SEE STACIE, YOU'RE A ROLE MODEL"
i started to tear up (seriously, i did)
again, to think that i inspire a single soul, is just truly humbling/amazing to me.
i hope this woman sticks w the journey long enough to begin to see her life transform.
its an amazing journey.

Wow Stacie, what a great story! Happy "Anniversary" with the Y! That is REALLY cool what your trainier friend is using you as an example of what hard work and commitment can produce. Way to be a role model Stacie!!! |
