^^^ aw yes.  me, in all my before i transformed my life, 'glory'....

its good to remember.

but 'painful' in a way too.

i remember me then.

i hope (in some ways) i never ever forget.

but then, on the other hand, that person is total stranger to me.

and my life NOW is so far removed from who i was before.

the truth of who i am now is so different.

man oh pete was the Y PACKED today.

and it seems like everyone does their ST on Mondays.  the mats were full, the machines were full, the free weights were taken.

whatever.

did what i needed to do.

30 mins of ST thank you very much.  session #2 in the books.  at least 1 if not 2 more session on tap for this week....

and then a nice, easy 3 mile run and 10 mins of stretching.

i vowed after feeling how tight everything got, that i would make it more conistent effort to stretch after every workout.

i used to be really, really good about stretching then got out of the habit...and man, i sure felt it at the end of the season - all the accumulated tightness.

never again.

stretching is on my MUST DO list.

Monday's are always bad at our Y because they are feeling guilty after the weekend I guess.  It seems to get slower each day of the week until New Years - then I return to my 5:30am workouts because only the foolish work out at that time of the day

funny.  its always 'dead' on Fridays at our Y.

i HATE it after the holidays.  it makes me CRAZY.

god bless all the people and their new years resolutions but when they're hoggin up lap lanes and TMs GRRRRR.

it usually takes about 2-3 mos before they start clearing out.

and i hear ya on the 5:30 AM workouts.  BEST time to be there.....just im just as foolish as you.

stacieb

So we are all "crazy ghoulies."  My Y opens at 5:15 and there is a line at the door.  I'm in the water by 5:20am.  Funny though, there is a window between 6:30 and 8am that the pools are practically empty.  Work crowd gone, SAHM/D's still getting kids off to school.

Hi Amy! Having a nice weekend so far?

It was nice. Devoid of exercise, unfortunately, but still nice. Got some quality time with the hubby and kids.

That's good to hear! Pretty similar here, but I was able to sneak in my 2 runs. Not bad overall...

sneaky two runs.

so THATS how you are.

skrtrnr - 2009-11-09 9:52 AM i was just reminded when i went to the Y today, that i was a three years ago this week that i joined the Y....

i need to post the pic of how i looked back then.

the people at the front desk of the Y keep telling me that i look like a completely different person than the picture they have on file/the pic they took when i joined....

AND....

one of the personal trainers at the Y has known me for years - before i joined the Y.

she pulled me aside today and told me that she pointed me out as a role model to one of her personal training clients (she works 1-1 w people at the Y)

she said the woman has been really struggling w sticking w her routine, and losing weight, and just really down on herself.

K. said she pointed me out to her, and told her how i used to be 'just like' her, and how i stuck w the plan and kept working out, and to look at me, how fit and athletic i am.

she told her how i ran a 1/2 mary this weekend (K. ran the same race and SMASHED the course, took 6th place in her age group and shes not even a 'runner' yeah right.  LOL) and how ive been training for triathlons.

K. was so sweet, she said "SEE STACIE, YOU'RE A ROLE MODEL"

i started to tear up (seriously, i did)

again, to think that i inspire a single soul, is just truly humbling/amazing to me.

i hope this woman sticks w the journey long enough to begin to see her life transform.

its an amazing journey.

stacieb

Wow Stacie, what a great story! Happy "Anniversary" with the Y! That is REALLY cool what your trainier friend is using you as an example of what hard work and commitment can produce. Way to be a role model Stacie!!!

I know it sucks, I've been sidelined before, too. There will be other 70 degree days! Maybe you have to aqua jog for awhile, but that is far better than sitting on the couch eating chips and getting fat. Keep moving, keep digging, and keep healing, and during all of this you are still getting stronger.

Thanks Ann.  I was really joking around.  I am pretty good with it right now - just boring doing the same 4 things every day (elliptical, weights, swim, aqua jog).  I like variety but will HTFU for 3 more weeks - Half way there!

I dedicate at least 1 mile every run now to my Ghoulies, so you've got that going for you. Sunday you got about 5. It was nice out and I was overdressed.

Feels like puberty lately - that is all.  I think I went through it already before Wink

I'm sure you would do it much better a second time around. You don't have to go up to the chalkboard at work do you?
