all this snow/skiing/snowshoeing/running/and general frivolity in the snow has me wishing we'd get DUMPED on.

just wind, a few flurries and butt ugly cold here.

got in a 1 hour spin and 1 mile continuous swim.

tomorrow, im gonna go in and do a light ST session....and then my not so important 5K on Saturday.

i have an uber duber busy weekend.

the 5K on Saturday, then a family birthday party, then the masters swim team party while my middle son is at a birthday party.

then Sunday were going to a memorial candle lighting ceremony at the Grief Center to remember my nephew, then im off to Happy Hour for the Tri Club.

lots of partying...and a little sad....and racing all mixed togther.

kinda of all jumbled up.

wgraves7582 - 2009-12-10 11:00 AM Well the snow returned downtown and with a vengeance!

Maybe it is time to leave early!

Sounds like a good enough reason to me

A co-worker was supposed to leave at 11:30 and he didn't because it is snowing.  Ummm, it is going to be snowing from now until Friday evening.  Where you sleeping tonight buddy?

I have never been fortunate enough to work close to home. Right now my commute is 28 miles, it was 34 to my last job. I always carry a bag in my car in the winter with some toiletries and a change of clothes, plus I carry a blanket in my car. I also have friends that live nearby and have been offered places to stay. I could stay at work if I had to, but I'd rather not.

I am around 20 miles I guess I could always just walk/run home - I usually have my gym bag and running shoes with me

I used to have a plow business and I went out one night to do a commercial account for the morning.  I did not dress appropriately - sweat pants and sweat shirt.  Finished the job and on the way home my truck broke down - brrrrr.  I didn't even grab my cell phone to think of it.

Ran to the local 7-11 and called the wife from there.  Won't make that mistake again!

And do you have cold weather gear in that gym bag of yours? I'm thinking 20 miles in shorts and a t-shirt would not be  enjoyable.

Warm clothes, warm is good!!!

I usually have some sweat type clothes to throw on after the Y.  I would probably not do such a dumb thing - maybe I will throw some extra cold stuff in a bag and keep it in the trunk - along with my snowshoes and skis

I don't even have a response to this.

If I was a stronger skier and guaranteed good snow I would ski to work - that would be fun!

Imagine the looks I would get doing that???

IMAGINE THE COMMENTS....

hey look at that DORKFACE.

love you mr. graves.

Evening everyone!  I had a tough swim this morning.  It was my masters group and after 1000 yds of stroke and kick we had to do 9 x 100 at 2:30/2:20/2:10 for each 300.  Needless to say, my slow swimming self could not keep up. In fact, I thought I was going to toss my cookies at one point.  I'd never try to re-write my life, but boy do I wish I'd learned to swim as a kid.

We have at least 12" (remember when I was complaining about no snow this morning at 6:15 am?) and are expecting 1-2' more (that is feet not inches )

Have a great evening everyone!

Glad you got what you wished for.  Enjoy the skiing.

Sounds like fun.  I had one of those wannapuke swims the other day.  Sucks during, but you feel pretty good about yourself afterward.

So my running has been lacking all week. I was going to run yesterday, but when I got home it was 33 degrees out with 30 mph winds and 40+ mph gusts. I just don't have enough warm clothes for that. I have to run today, even if that means running on a treadmill.

Just over 5 weeks to my HM, no time to be slacking now!!!

Good morning Stacie

Um... yes, waxing does sting for a bit, especiallly if it's the first time you've had it done. The place I go puts some sort of goop on my when they're done to help take the redness and swelling away quicker, at least that's what they say.

Yeah that's way too windy to run.  Good luck getting on the treadmill today.
