tlnewman30 - 2008-10-19 4:36 PM Official chip time 4:34:08, gun time 4:38:00.3.  I am very pleased with the overall performance of the race, though I broke down towards the end.

Great job Travis!

it's great that you are pleased with your performance!

Thanks, plus breaking a PR by 30 mins is enourmous.  You can't ask for much more than that.

In fact, I think this calls for glitter and a round of applause

LazyMarathoner - 2008-10-19 4:03 PM Now I'm at Starbucks getting my recovery drink - a grande salted caramel hot chocolate. That stuff is like liquid crack. I thought about it the last 5 miles.

Mmmmm...salted caramel hot chocolate.  I might have to stop at Starbucks on my way to the grocery.

Salt and chocolate is an incredible combination. When I was in Madison for the Ironman I would go to this bakery every day and get this dark chocolate cookie with sea salt on top. Seriously the best thing I've ever had.

Even more delicious is this chocolate bar I had with bits of bacon in it. I thought it was salt at first, then was told it was bacon. Yum. My friend is a chef and she makes a bacon chocolate cake. Devils food with chocolate frosting with bits of bacon in it. Sounds crazy, but trust me, it's crazy good!
